What's everyone doing this evening?

DH reckons we're going to drink some of the mulled wine I bought to share with friends (outside) and now can't. We've got some spring rolls, samosas in so may have them and mulled wine late afternoon. Later M&S ready meals, cheesecake, prosecco. Afterwards a game or crash out in front of tv. DH will no doubt have a drink to see the New Year in, but I'll have had enough alcohol by that point.

Bufffet, champagne, Skype charades with friends, then celebrating the end of 2020. Happy New Year every one!

Ninkanink · 31/12/2020 12:23

For dinner we’re having spaghetti and pork meatballs in a tomato sauce.

We’ll have mulled wine in the early evening (finishing it off), maybe a mince pie for DH.

We’ll toast the new year with champagne. Perhaps also some melon and Parma ham.

PoppinTheCorn · 31/12/2020 12:26

Food, booze and music with family and the neighbours.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 31/12/2020 12:48

Food delivery due this afternoon, unpack that then a nice bath with book and glass of wine, dress up nicer than normal for a change, maybe even makeup 😲 a bit of tv before easy meal probably burgers then dh and ds will chill with me in front of a film. I rarely make it awake until 11 let alone 12 🥂🍾 but will make an effort

BringPizza · 31/12/2020 13:01

Buffet of lovely things, some films, unlikely to stay up till 12 because what's the point (making the noose now... Grin )

Corriefan2021 · 31/12/2020 13:04

Takeaway for us and board games/films.
This will be the first year the kids have tried to stay up so we will see how that goes.

MrsExpo · 31/12/2020 13:05

M&S curry washed down with a decent bottle of red, then might stay up for the usual Jools thing on TV (or might not!). Happy New Year everyone.

fairydustandpixies · 31/12/2020 13:06

Nothing. Will be just me and the dog as usual. Have fun everyone sharing good times!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 31/12/2020 13:08

Possibly working.

I have a colleague who's unwell and wants to go home. I'll have to cover.

I don't mind covering, but she won't decide if she's staying or not. So I don't know what I'm doing.

It's pissing me off.

Originally I said I need to know by 1pm but she is still undecided.

It's putting me in A Mood.

ScouseQueen · 31/12/2020 13:18

I find it hard to stay up these days but I am keen to actually see off the back of this foul year and go to bed knowing it's no longer 2020!

We have M&S food and nice drinks. May do some board games. Can't decide whether to go for the dressing up approach or go the other way and put pyjamas on early.

MrsJonesAndMe · 31/12/2020 13:22

Chinese, TV possibly the fire pit. I want to go to bed at normal time, but teen wants to stay up, so will have to pretend to be jolly for far longer than normal Sad

Really I think lightning a candle for the thousands dead and lives/economy ruined is probably more apt.

Ducksurprise · 31/12/2020 13:27

We are going for lunch with our families (15 of us) then two games of bowling. Then dropping eldest kids at a house party and youngest round a friend's for sleepovers. Then we are going to a live music venue, have txci booked for 2am and youngest won't be home until 5pm so going to have a proper hangover lie in.

Ducksurprise · 31/12/2020 13:29

Oh my mistake, looking at last year's calendar😭😭😭

MrsDThomas · 31/12/2020 13:44

Meal deal, prosecco, board games and a snowy walk on a mountain side

S0CKS · 31/12/2020 13:47

I've ordered a takeaway from our local Indian preordered to hopefully avoid the crush later on

Sgtmajormummy · 31/12/2020 13:59

We’re having a traditional Italian NYE meal:

Pasta with ragù sauce.
Cotechino (boiled gristle sausage, hate it) and spicy stewed lentils (love ‘em).
Salad.
My rich homemade Bundt cake and Spumante at midnight.

We’re deciding whether to watch Minority Report or Ex Macchina between dinner and cake. Any advice?

Not so different to last year. DC2 is getting to Party at Friends’ House age, but not this year, obviously.

BillyAndTheSillies · 31/12/2020 14:01

We've ordered a food delivery from a local chef that just needs reheating so will do that once the DC's are in bed.

Not drinking. We are in tier 4 and parenting with a hangover and no outlet apart from a freezing cold park is making me really grumpy so choosing not to.

It'll be a miracle if we aren't in bed by 10pm.

Kriskristoffifee · 31/12/2020 14:02

*@Ducksuprise.*I read your post . Re read and re re read thinking wow I wanna live where ducksurprise does . Then i read your follow up post, so funny.

Audreyseyebrows · 31/12/2020 14:04

Champagne and a buffet. Getting dressed up and probably a kitchen disco with dc.

megletthesecond · 31/12/2020 14:05

Same as every evening. Food, bit of tv and bed around 10pm.
I don't like new year, reminds me what a mess I make of every year.

quarentini · 31/12/2020 14:13

Doing a online quiz and disco with friends and then sparklers at midnight.
Food is cheese fondue

Chewbecca · 31/12/2020 14:21

We have a ‘finish at home’ type meal from a restaurant (200 miles away!) then have a zoom with friends planned from 1030.

TillyTopper · 31/12/2020 14:27

Finish the tidying and room moving we started today. Eat a homemade curry. I'll be going to bed early as I've had CV19 and I'm still recovering. DP may stay up with 1 DS. That's about it!

gerbo · 31/12/2020 14:39

Tapas, fizz, lemon puddings which I made this morning and churros.

Then all collapse in from of tv, kids up to bed around 9/930, hour or so of telly just us two and....bed! Not thrilling but a nice enough evening. New Years isn't a big deal for us anyway, just an excuse for good food and fizz!

EggnogAndAMincepie · 31/12/2020 15:32

Going to my Mum and Sister's for tea. Will have some drinks go in hot tub and probably play some games as well before seeing the new year in
