What's everyone doing this evening?

DH reckons we're going to drink some of the mulled wine I bought to share with friends (outside) and now can't. We've got some spring rolls, samosas in so may have them and mulled wine late afternoon. Later M&S ready meals, cheesecake, prosecco. Afterwards a game or crash out in front of tv. DH will no doubt have a drink to see the New Year in, but I'll have had enough alcohol by that point.

Having a house party with my friends across the world to our favourite DJ.

Neighbour's might be annoyed abit by music but considering I've been partying along the year wearing headphones all the time, this night they can just deal with it.

Woodlandbelle · 31/12/2020 15:52

At the moment I am cleaning out my wardrobe. It's in a dreadful state. Then I will sort dcs clothes and hoover and prep veg for dinner tomorrow and tidy so that by 6pm I can really relax and enjoy this evening and news years day.
We have sparklers and after dc are in bed we will have a few drinks and watch shite on TV Grin

Kim82 · 31/12/2020 15:55

We’re ordering a takeaway, putting the 6yo in bed at her usual time (she’s not good when she has a late night) then me, dh and the 16 and 13 year old will watch a film and I’ll have a nice bottle of wine whilst sat on the sofa in my pjs and I’ll probably be in bed for 12.05am.

itsme7 · 31/12/2020 15:56

It’s my first new year without company - I’ve splashed out on sushi and chocolate treats. Am very late to the Schitts Creek party so going to binge as many episodes as I can before I fall asleep. Can’t wait to leave 2020 behind. Have a good one everyone!

WunWun · 31/12/2020 15:56

Nothing. Hopefully going to bed early.

Groovee · 31/12/2020 16:05

Party food. Got a couple of games, lots of drink and sweeties for me dh and the grown up Dd and Ds.

Tomorrow a local restaurant will deliver dinner.

TellySavalashairbrush · 31/12/2020 16:06

Always disliked NYE so in an ideal world I’d be asleep by 10pm but dh would like if I could try to hold out until midnight. Amazed so many families on here play board games. Never met a real life family that do that and thought it was just something you’d see largely on TV only 😂

ElfieElfington · 31/12/2020 16:23

DP is coming over, we're going to order pizza and watch an online gig I think, maybe a film.

Coffeeislife04 · 31/12/2020 16:37

Doing a marmalade glazed gammon with help your self picky sides a few gins then bed usually have a chinese every new years but not feeling it this year and in bed before 12Grin

TheWelshposter · 31/12/2020 16:46

Same as every NYE as we usually just stay at home...with young kids ranging from 2 to 11 we are never out on NYE.
I've got M and S party food so we'll have that,.let the kids finish off all the Christmas.sweets, then have some prosecco/Shloer in front of the fire.
And hopefully watch some Netflix.
Rock n rolllllll.

champagneplanet · 31/12/2020 16:50

Party nibbles and a few drinks, putting music and disco lights on for the DCs and having a mini party. Will let the them stay up until midnight if they make it.

Not much different to any other NYE for us really.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 31/12/2020 16:55

Staying in on my own like I’ve done every fucking night since March (bar 2).

Vargas · 31/12/2020 16:56

Zoom quiz with friends, some fizz then a curry and a film. No way DH will make it to midnight. This is his ideal NYE!

Trauchled · 31/12/2020 16:58

Staying in and having a family catch up on zoom.
Some alcohol will probably be involved too 🍾

BettyOBarley · 31/12/2020 17:00

We've just had some early party food before DH went to do a night shift. The kids and I are going to play a few games then DD will stay up a bit later than usual, maybe watch some of the new year stuff on TV and I'll have a couple of drinks and face time a friend later.
Defo won't be up at midnight!

Bramble88 · 31/12/2020 17:01

A shandy and watching cruising with Jane Mcdonald 🙈 2021 has gotta be better right?

1FootInTheRave · 31/12/2020 17:42

Mini buffet. Wine. Playing cards with the kids.

Feeling sorry for myself as have been ill all over xmas and then should've been on holiday from yesterday.

AdoraBell · 31/12/2020 17:48

Teenage DDs at home instead of meeting up with friends, none of them are happy but hey ho.

Dinner, brisket with Mexican style spices, precooked, salad and potato wedges and tortillas. DD1 is making chocolate brownies. There will be champagne later.

NeedWineNow · 31/12/2020 17:53

Just about to open a bottle of fizz and do FaceTime with our friends. Steak for dinner afterwards and then telly with possibly more fizz. There's only the two of us but we're more than capable of having a party in our ownGrin

fussychica · 31/12/2020 17:56

Google meets with DS and his girlfriend for some quizzing.
No booze, have to leave home at the crack of dawn for an operation at the hospital. Not looking forward to the drive in the ice, dark etc on mainly country roads. I'm nervous enough without that. Not what I was hoping for for the first day of 2021.

flower11 · 31/12/2020 18:04

I have some m and s party food in the oven, bottle of fizz in the fridge. Trifle for pudding as we didn't get to have one over xmas. Watch a film with dc on Disney plus. Aim to have them in bed around 9PM. Dh and I may then watch a film, can't be bothered to stay up till midnight as no fireworks and I was up at 05.30 this morning to go to work.

Swearlikemalcolmtucker · 31/12/2020 18:06

We’ve got a cold meats and cheeses platter with some savoury pastries I made earlier, fancy olives and some other snacky bits from M&S. I had a tooth out a week ago and today is the first day I feel like I can eat properly again so can’t wait.

Also going to make Gluhwein in the slow cooker and have a whisky sour as I didn’t have any over Christmas due to all the painkillers.

Then we are going to watch some TV if one year old DS decides to sleep and completely chill out.

Hoping there aren’t too many fireworks so they don’t wake him up!

mbosnz · 31/12/2020 18:08

Having a family BBQ, just as we always do - whatever the hemisphere, whatever the weather, lol. Might not be eating outside though. . . Grin

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 31/12/2020 18:09

Taken toddler DTwins round block for last walk of 2020. Like escorting two drunks round the streets, shouting and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star off-key at the tops of their voices.

Now children eating a chili and watching Numberblocks and bathtime/ bedtime.

Then, yoga for me and DH making easy dinner of pasta pesto.

A few chores then the new Robert Galbraith and Marks cava till 2021!

Moonbabyskalimba · 31/12/2020 18:09

DP is working nights so I'm just about to start bedtime routine with DS, then once he's asleep I'm going to cook a steak, have a glass of wine and watch whatever I fancy. I'll be in bed by 10. I could join in with a socially distanced street party at midnight (similar to VE day) but I think I'll pass!
