Hi all!
Is anyone still awake and fancying a natter?
Me and DH aren't in a good place but we have have just built/wrapped everything for the 2 DDs and he's now snoring next to me! DDs are blissfully asleep Grin
So I'm having a wine and watching a film!
What is anyone else upto now/today?

I’ve just come to bed. I was waiting for the fourth cake to come out. Other three are dark and keep well. The ham was in too and the pavlova. All ready now so I can go to bed and sleep for a few hours. Just need to stuff the turkey and make the pigs in blankets.

Bonkerz · 25/12/2020 04:04

Awake here too. Got an open finger fracture which always needs more drugs at this time so I'm waiting for codeine to kick in.
First year none of mine believe so I've got 2 dcs sleeping in lounge (9+15) and my adult kids are snoring away.
I'm laying here thinking of all the jobs I need to try and do one handed lmao

joystir59 · 25/12/2020 04:04

So much I can't even write it down.

Bambi1222 · 25/12/2020 04:08

I've just been woke up by one of my DC. Thought prezzie time. No vomit time. Poor DC. About sums this fucking year up. Now other DC is sat very patiently waiting for sick DC to wake back up who has now fallen asleep after saying is too unwell for prezzies. DC that is awake also feels sick but doesn't need to vomit ( only has once when unwell) so guess two sick DC really. Must of caught something when doing the Xmas shop. Merry Xmas everyone! On the bright side Xmas dinner can fuck off this year didn't fancy it anyway as I'm in agony myself with a health condition. Fuck off 2020 just fuck off!

Bambi1222 · 25/12/2020 04:09

Sorry for the vent Merry Christmas everyone was genuine though

Hailtomyteeth · 25/12/2020 04:12

Merry Christmas @Bambi1222. I hope your DCs feel better soon.

73kittycat73 · 25/12/2020 04:14

Flowers for all those missing loved ones. Sad
I'm up because I had a cunning plan...that seems to have backfired. I get terrible insomnia anyway but usually drop off after one at the earliest. I then spend the day so so tired, usually at it's worst around mid afternoon.
I take anti-depressants that make me very tired so try and take them at night to help. On to tonight... I thought if I didn't take them I would be more awake/alert tomorrow so could host, and enjoy the day more. However, I'm now not sleepy at all and can't sleep! Keep worrying that I'll be to tired tomorrow now, so that's not helping. Gah! Xmas Angry

Bambi1222 · 25/12/2020 04:14

@Hailtomyteeth thank you. Merry xmas

weepingwillow22 · 25/12/2020 04:21

I woke up at 4am with a bad headache. Baby awake too now.

PhilCornwall1 · 25/12/2020 04:25

Woke up at 3am as usual for my first lot of codeine. Decided to make a pot of Betty's Christmas Coffee to wash them down, very tasty!! Crashed on the settee now feeling pleasantly out of it. All is very quiet and peaceful here.

Merry Christmas everyone. What a year, but we've all made it this far!!

Friolero · 25/12/2020 04:25

I'm awake. I had a few hours sleep but have got covid and not feeling great.

CarinaMarina · 25/12/2020 04:32

I'm awake because DH suffers from insomnia - he lay awake for an hour then when I stirred at 3am and was "awake" for a nanosecond, he launched into a full conversation. Hmm

He wandered off downstairs to play the PS and I snuggled back into my pillows to try to go back to sleep, when the dog suddenly brought up an astonishingly large volume of vomit on the landing (he's only small, how he held that much undigested food in his little stomach is beyond me). I cleared it up but I'm going to have to get the carpet cleaner out, it's grim.

The vet thinks he could be developing IBD, I was skeptical initially but now I'm not so sure. No turkey for you my boy.

Bambii I really hope it was just a one off for your DC due to excitement, and nothing awful! Flowers

strawberriesunited · 25/12/2020 04:41

AquarianSquirrel · 25/12/2020 04:43

Had a nap earlier, finished wrapping an hour ago?! And am now finishing series 6 of Gossip Girl...just seen your username! @MrsChuckBass. On episode 5 so no spoilers! Merry Kitty as my ds says!

lljkk · 25/12/2020 05:03

Noisy 19yo DD crashing around at 4:30am. I am Not best pleased.
With teens you put their stockings out in the morning, or they'd be open before midnight or 2am or 3 am...

TurningOfTheWheel · 25/12/2020 05:03

I've been awake for about an hour with horrendous period pain Sad it's so cold too

Seeleyboo · 25/12/2020 05:17

We have our xmas dinner on xmas eve and this leaves me to be able to enjoy xmas day along with everyone else. We have salon for dinner on xmas day. Quick and easy. Younger 2 are 4 and 5 and traditionally, I have 3 older, kids open stockings on xmas day and family gift and our gifts on boxing day.

lljkk · 25/12/2020 05:19

Wild windy & cold, Recurring hailstorms here!

I'm an exercise freak but with a knee injury so cycling is out & running aggravates the knee, too. Now the swim pools are closed I guess i''ll walk for 2 hours a day when weather supports.

garlictwist · 25/12/2020 05:23

Me and DP had a Christmas Eve fight last night and I'm in the spare room. We rarely argue. It was about me being worried about covid and how draining that is for him. Oh, and how I always tell him off for snoring Hmm.

Merry Christmas!

Lulu1919 · 25/12/2020 05:24

Hello
I'm awake
Just made a mug of hot milk ..back in bed !
Sigh
Might read ...no kids here they are both independent..one married one with long term bf seeing them later today so excited as not all been together for sooooo long

garlictwist · 25/12/2020 05:26

Oh and @lljkk I'm in the same boat! It's awful isn't it. I was really looking forward to spending my time off work fell running as I do every Christmas. Instead I'm sat inside feeling really sad. I've cried my eyes out sometimes because exercise is all I have (dramatic I know).

No kids, other half works long hours and I wfh. Running and cycling are what get me through the loneliness.

What's your injury? Mines my itb band and also a ligament thing, so two at once. I spent 140 quid on this stupid home ultrasound thing in desperation which obviously has done nothing.

CaramelCup · 25/12/2020 05:29

Awake with the baby..

Other 2 DC are 8 and 11. So 🤞🏼 They have a decent lay in today.

Happy Christmas everyone - hope your days go to plan!

Effsee · 25/12/2020 05:36

Partner forgot to turn his alarm off for work which went off at 5:15. Didn't get to sleep until 1:30. Once I'm awake it's very hard for me to get back to sleep. Feel a tired headache coming on. Going to be shattered tomorrow....
My 10 month old daughters first Christmas though 😁
Merry Christmas everyone ❤

DobbleQueen · 25/12/2020 05:38

Been awake since 4. Waiting impatiently for DC - 3 and 13- to wake up but they are rarely up before 7 even at Christmas - I'm an early bird who bred night owls!

bubblesforlife · 25/12/2020 05:39

Awake too!
Suffering from insomnia and tend to wake around 4/5am every morning now, I’m late in my pregnancy.
I’m lying awake totally upset, and probably totally unreasonable to feel this way . I opened my DM’s gifts and I’m feeling so frustrated at how thoughtless they are.
Maternity top, which is not very flattering and very cheap from an online store I would never ever buy from.
Maternity pjs - a size too small, same store.
A cocktail making kit (hello? I’m preg and never ever drink cocktails)
A mocktail making book....
Why doesn’t she know me? I would prefer no gift than to buy me stuff that won’t fit me and I can’t wear because I’ve only a few weeks left of pregnancy. I’m so frustrated that I’m upset by it.
It’s very typical though, she never thinks about practicalities. When she asks, and if I told her I didn’t like them because they are not going to be used she will make me feel guilty about it. So it’s easier to say thank you and no more.
She always does this and I end up feeling guilty about it because she has wasted money on items that are never ever going to be used.
Maybe it’s my hormones. I wish I could go back to sleep and shake this feeling off.
