Anyone miss 2 periods after taking morning after pill?

Hi, my partner and I DTD on 14/11 and I took EllaOne the following day. I completely missed my period at the end of November (usually every 4 weeks to the hour!)

I'm now coming up to when my second missed period would be which is on the 25/12 so Christmas day!

Has anyone had Ellaone mess up your cycle this much? Since taking the MAP I've had no bleeding or spotting whatsoever. I took 2 first response test, both negative.

I woke up yesterday extremely nauseous like when morning sickness began in my last pregnancy and had another wave of nausea last night.

I took another first response this morning after talking with the pharmacist and it's another negative. Does this mean I'm definitely not pregnant? I'm worried as I really wouldn't be able to continue with the pregnancy if it was. Please has anyone had period delayed by nearly 2 months or longer?

Thanks in advance!

@Bex19999 apparently not all evap lines are colourless so hopefully that's the case, is it very faint compared to the other line? If I was you I would wait a couple of days and test again and see if it gets any darker!

@BigMumma18 I assume if this is a positive it happened last weekend and that’s why it is so faint.. I would usually use FRER but Sainsbury’s didn’t have one yesterday. I have another clear blue here but I don’t know if I trust the blue dyes

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 11:17

@Bex19999 it is possible it could be early on as faint! I would try holding off a couple of days and trying again, hope you get the answer you are wanting, which I'm assuming you're hoping you're not?

@Bex19999 There is definitely a line there! And it does look blue x

@BigMumma18 I couldn’t wait and did the other clear blue I had which is negative so I am assuming this is an evap?? It looks like such a clear positive though so I am really confused. And yeah I am hoping I am not x

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 11:32

@Bex19999 Aww, to be honest I probably would have done the same! It sounds like you can rule that last test out now though.

@BigMumma18 that is awful
Though for someone who is trying as I’ve seen evaps before and this looked like a clear positive blue line

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 11:48

@Bex19999 yes we went through a lot of ups and downs when trying and using clear blue, I would never use them again! I found the pink dye ones most reliable! I only ever had one positive on those that didn't result in a baby. I had a faint line and came on a week later than usual so I'm assuming this was an early miscarriage!

I've just booked my implant for Tuesday next week at 10am, if I don't come on by then, they won't do it until pregnancy has been ruled out so I guess I will know for sure either way by then 🤔

There is a thread elsewhere which dispels the myth that MAP prevents implantation. It doesn’t. What is does is delay ovulation so no egg is released to be fertilised. If you have already ovulated in your cycle the MAP will not prevent fertilisation or implantation.

This is why so many women get pregnant after unprotected sex because they think the MAP will prevent conception at any point in your cycle.

Bex19999 · 29/12/2020 12:36

@BigMumma18 yes I have heard bad things about clear blue.. I had a chemical pregnancy before years ago was postive on clear blue early and digi then came on a few days later. The time I was pregnant i used frer and it showed straight away really clearly I would have bought that if they had it.

I assume they will do a preg test but will they still do the implant if negative but no period ? I’m sure when I had mine fitted I had to wait till I’d come on before they’d do it

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 12:47

@viques I have come to that conclusion through lots of reading of similar stories, that's what worries me! Although I'm sure we would have had a possible test result by now if the MAP has failed?

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 12:51

@Bex19999 yes sometimes you just have to pick up what's available at the time... I'm unsure what they will do to be honest, if I haven't come on by next Tuesday I have to take a test first thing before I go in, they said if it's negative then they will go ahead with implant... it is worrying though as will still wonder if I am and then probably won't even have a period at all.

@BigMumma18 I am so tempted to go to boots and buy a frer I honestly must have spent almost £60 on tests in the last month. Did you speak to the GP today then ? I don’t think you are I am sure it would show by now and you haven’t had sex since ? It would be so unlikely for it to not show up by now. I know my gp will say nothing if I call I feel tempted to say I’ve missed 3 periods so they might do some tests etc

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 13:04

@Bex19999 I wouldn't buy anymore! Perhaps just have a conversation with your doctor and say you can't afford anymore tests and that you're having really bad anxiety over it all, perhaps they can then do tests.... I really don't think I am too but just want my period to come before I have the implant so I can rule it out for sure.

@BigMumma18 GP releases more appointments at 3pm so might give them a call. I don’t think I have ever wanted my period to come so much !!

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 13:39

@Bex19999 definitely worth ringing! I totally get what you're saying, same here

Bex19999 · 29/12/2020 15:01

@BigMumma18 have a telephone app at 5 today with the nurse.. guess the GP wasnt available. Will let you know what they say. Have been getting a bit or cramping this afternoon though

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 15:36

@Bex19999 that's good, something at least! Hopefully the cramping is a sign though too

Bex19999 · 29/12/2020 17:14

@BigMumma18 well useless call really.. she said I have to wait 3 weeks have no sex and a negative preg test before they will investigate and do any bloods. She said as my last sex was 10 days ago they can’t yet rule out pregnancy so can’t do anything. Ffs

Bex19999 · 29/12/2020 17:15

I asked if the MAP can effect you this long after and she said sometimes

Bex19999 · 29/12/2020 17:23

I actually feel like never having sex after this again!! Went to get a frer earlier they were all sold out in boots. I never see them in the supermarkets only chemists and boots etc. I don’t want any other test as I know they are most accurate

BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 17:47

@Bex19999 Aww noooo, how annoying, I know what you mean though.... I haven't had sex since the morning after pill so that's 6 weeks and 2 days with no sex or period.... Really annoying now waiting, surely that can't be right, can't seem to find anything online apart from us that's had to wait so long!

OP posts:
BigMumma18 · 29/12/2020 17:49

@Bex19999 wish I could magically send my spare frer test over to you! X

OP posts:
Bex19999 · 29/12/2020 18:55

@BigMumma18 I can’t seem to find anyone on mumsnet but I did see some stuff on other forums of women not not having a period for nearly 70 days !. I feel like I’m focusing on every single Symptom now. I checked the 2nd clear blue I did this morning and no light at all clear white. Ahh wish you could to! Going to try and hold off till the weekend to test again ! X
