Anyone miss 2 periods after taking morning after pill?

Hi, my partner and I DTD on 14/11 and I took EllaOne the following day. I completely missed my period at the end of November (usually every 4 weeks to the hour!)

I'm now coming up to when my second missed period would be which is on the 25/12 so Christmas day!

Has anyone had Ellaone mess up your cycle this much? Since taking the MAP I've had no bleeding or spotting whatsoever. I took 2 first response test, both negative.

I woke up yesterday extremely nauseous like when morning sickness began in my last pregnancy and had another wave of nausea last night.

I took another first response this morning after talking with the pharmacist and it's another negative. Does this mean I'm definitely not pregnant? I'm worried as I really wouldn't be able to continue with the pregnancy if it was. Please has anyone had period delayed by nearly 2 months or longer?

@BigMumma18 does your doctor know you took the MAP though ? Cos in that case from what I’ve read it’s quite common to Miss a period. I always heard GPS don’t even bother investigating unless you miss like 3 periods ??

I ended up telling him I was worried earlier he just said take another test or go GP for blood test. Men think it’s simple lol. One negative test and they probably don’t give it a second thought.

Just googled the hook effect as well never heard of it before! I took one early one aswell so I don’t think that can apply to me. Only way I think I’d be pregnant is if it’s from one of the recent times we’ve had sex and not enough Hormone in the urine yet

@Bex19999 yes doctor knows I took the morning after pill but seemed a bit confused I've not had a period yet, this was about 4 days before I missed my second one. He said if I've taken tests this far along then I can 'probably' rule pregnancy out!

Totally agree, mine wanted me to take the 3rd one to rule it out and because I was close to missing another period

Bugmumma they are not keen tho, I had it done at 40, Aspergers younger son ( unknown at the time) and single.
They wanted me to have a coil, no way I said

@Nsky well it's another option and worth asking about, maybe with the problems I've had with contraception in the past they may consider it

@BigMumma18 doctors sometimes are really not good in reassuring you ! Once my doctor said to me I basically must have been pregnant as a I had a urine infection and told me clear blue tests shows up a week after conception.. yes conception not even a week after periods due. I was in total shock as I knew that was complete bshit.

I’ve seen your other comments about the implant.. I’m not a fan of hormonal contraception as since I’ve got older I’ve struggled with my weight but I was on the implant from 19-24 and I had no issues with weight or bad skin etc. If I was gna go on any it would be that

I'm feeling quite irritable this morning and have not got any time or patience for my partner so hopefully that's a sign I will come on tomorrow. This usually happens the day before I do so 🤞

Bloated but don’t know if that’s from all the Xmas food 🙈. I’m on cycle day 56 now which has never happened before.

Think if nothing by the weekend I’ll take another test and then call the GP

@Bex19999 Thank you! Really hope you do too, wow day 56, sounds a lot but just worked out I'm on day 60! I've never missed 2 periods ever so it is a little concerning, really hope I come on tomorrow... I will be phoning the doctor tomorrow anyway, will let you know what they say 🙂

@BigMumma18 I have had a 53 day cycle before I generally have long cycles but that’s happened once or twice years ago. I was convinced I would
Come on day 53 but here I am nothing! I did ring my GP when it went 53 days years ago and all they said was take a preg test every week. So I know they aren’t gna be very helpful. I read you have 28 day cycles so this is obviously a a lot more strange for you. Is this the first time taking the MAP?

@Bex19999 yes I see what you mean! I guess they will just say to take a test each week until you come on. I've taken EllaOne before and remember I missed one period but not 2, perhaps I had already ovulated at the time as was around that time and it delayed my next? That's all that seems to make sense to me. Yes 28 day cycle when not on other contraception, and other methods have stopped my periods completely when taking them (both Cerrazette and the Depo injection did that) It took me 2 1/2 years to get back any bleeding whatsoever after stopping the Depo and I've been off contraceptives for about 4 years now and very regular every 28 days until now.

@BigMumma18 yep that’s what they said and funnily enough I came on the next day after speaking to them. Hmm maybe I’ve been doing a bit of Googling and read that this has actually happened to a lot of people after taking the MAP . I had no period at all when on the implant and they have never been regular since. I need to go to the shops so I am thinking to pick up a test although not sure what the point is as it won’t show up if I was pregnant from last weekends incident

Also after we last had sex he said there was blood.. we both thought it was the start of my period but that was 10 Days ago now

@Bex19999 Oh no, must be so confusing, I've not done anymore tests as I don't believe there will be any change in my results... obviously if I still haven't come on before I have the implant then I will have to take a test before to be sure I'm not.

Ok so I just looked at my test I did yesterday and it is now positive. I don’t know if it’s an evap line I am shittin myself

@Bex19999 I've got a spare one too just wanted to wait until my appointment for implant and do it before that... my partner doesn't really want me putting more hormones into myself by having the implant but don't see what other choice I have really.... will ring doctors in a bit... Nothing for me yet either, a little cramping so it may be on it's way! Oh no, I'm sure it's probably just an evap line, i wouldn't count it if it didn't come up straight away so don't panic 🙂 I know easier said than done!

@BigMumma18 I thought evap lines were grey though or no colour... I did a clear blue and the line is really clearly blue ??

@Bex19999 I always found clear blue in the past the worse for evap lines, when we were trying for our little one, we kept getting false hope with them, that's why I use first response now as it's never happened with those... how long after taking it did the line come up, do you have a photo of it?

I read the test straight away and it was negative for some reason I didn’t throw it away I didn’t wait 10 mins for it to develop so I don’t really know when the line showed up. But this morning I looked again and there’s a line. I’ll upload a pic
