Theer-ter.
Ad-he-siv.

My dad was a cockney who went to grammar school and then university. He lost his cockney accent and speaks in quite a neutral accent but has odd pronunciation for envelope and theatre. He says on-velope and -thee-a-ter.
Not sure how he says adhesive. Probably Glue.

I was shopping for tiles once and was utterly baffled when the man in the shop asked me if I had a D-sieve. I couldn't think what I would need a sieve for, to tile my kitchen splashback.
