This is the one I bought, but there is a Platinum one for £100 more, but no idea what the difference is. Maybe I am just 'reviving' the carpet?

Life

I've got shingles and an impacted bowel from the painkillers.

DH has just spent 3 hours driving around chemists to see if any have my micro enemas that 111 so kindly prescribed for me this morning.

I don think I've ever felt so shit both mentally and physically. Right now I really fucking hate life.

@Sparklingbrook. thanks for update.

Dh recently hired a carpet cleaner from morrisons, it made a real difference to the carpet, but a few days later the house stunk like a wet dog!!!
Can you let me know if your house doesn't smell?

No smell as yet. The hall carpet is dry, but will keep you posted. We had a Rug Doctor hire from Homebase years ago and IIRC that was very wet dog smell.

I have been looking at other Vax liquids as there seems to be different ones to the one included. So might get a different sort.

Yes it was a rug doctor we got , the wet dog smell was awful!!!

I spilt half an after eight hot chocolate on my duck egg blue fabric sofa, and over a white tshirt I'd literally worn one before (a soaking in vanish and a wash has not saved the shirt, the sofa I daren't even tackle yet!)

@Sparklingbrook

Vax Carpet cleaning update.

I have done the hall and it has picked the pile up of the carpet, the colour of the water it collected was dark brown, but our carpets are that colour so no visible stains to begin with. It appears they were quite dirty. Blush The solution has no scent, but there's no wet carpet smell either. The carpet now has stripes like when you hoover new carpet.
Next (tomorrow) will be the living room. There's some areas of carpet that see a lot of footfall so it will be interesting to see if it picks the pile up as well there.

I feel happy that the carpet in the hall is a lot cleaner than it was-it's still a bit wet, they reckon about an hour to dry.

Thanks Sparkling!

Two day later still no smell and the hall carpet definitely has more of a ‘spring’ to it. Going to attempt the living room but DH suggested before bed to give it chance to dry overnight which is a good call. But we will need to do furniture moving first.

I’ve just finished my period and I have fucking thrush again! Every bloody month!

Just seen this, am very impressed. May need to look for one in the sales..

Not very lighthearted so feel free to skip past.

DH's youngest brother has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer today. DH died from lung cancer last year. I'm not close to BIL (neither was DH) but I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, let alone a family member. I'm dreading telling DS and DSS. While neither of them is particularly fond of this uncle, it will likely bring back unpleasant memories of their dad's illness. If I don't tell them and they find out from someone else, it could be even more upsetting. So I need to find the words. But I have no idea what to say, and I am also gutted for BIL and his children.
