because i was going to go and get the few christmas presents i have to get today and it has snowed all day

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 04/12/2020 14:28

I left to take the kids to school at 8.30. I got to the supermarket at half nine, and was back in the car at 10.45.

At half 11, after trying several routes home, I decided to go and get the children from school before leaving the car at the edge of town and walking the final mile home with them up the massive steep hill.

Snow and steep hills don't mix. You would think an A Road, used by hundreds of lorries daily, very steep hill would be a priority for gritters... But no. They just closed it instead.

DH was permitted to fetch the car when he pointed out is was a 4x4 and he was an experienced alpine driver...

Today can fuck off because I am one big enormous hangover, having decided that it was perfectly reasonable to have a dancing-in-the-kitchen party until 1.30am

There weren't many people at the party (2 including me). It always seems like a good idea at the time

Also snow can fuck off

timeforawine · 04/12/2020 14:34

Bastard rain 🤬 soaking wet feet from going and topping up the bird seed. Birds are happy at least

TokyoSushi · 04/12/2020 15:32

Also keen on a Vax review @Sparklingbrook !

Sparklingbrook · 04/12/2020 15:36

It has arrived, bit too late for any cleaning today. Sad I have to screw the handle on and then read the manual. There is a bottle of the liquid in with it but only 250ml, but not sure how much you have to use.

It's quite large so will have to live in the garage. The claim is the carpets will be dry in an hour after using so sounds good.

WhoNeedsShoesAnyway · 04/12/2020 15:47

Today can fuck off as I just found out I need to tell my team they are losing their jobs before Christmas.

ssd · 04/12/2020 15:47

Ohh I'd be interested in how well it works too @Sparklingbrook

I'm currently sat on sofa, freshly showered, drinking baileys, eating wensleydale and cranberry cheese and watching a xmas movie

Sorry everyone

I'll piss off now Grin

ssd · 04/12/2020 15:48

Sorry I didn't mean to sound smug..I've plenty to moan about but today is ok so far

hamstersarse · 04/12/2020 15:52

@whoneedsshoesanyway

That really sucks.
What industry are you in?

Sunbird24 · 04/12/2020 16:01

Hay fever on top of a miscarriage that’s lasted a week so far, nobody needs the extra sneezing...

LadyPenelope68 · 04/12/2020 16:03

I’m self-isolating and I just want to go out for a walk 😢😢

bloodywhitecat · 04/12/2020 16:09

Because today we were told that DP has bile duct cancer, not pancreatic cancer. Because the margins removed during his recent Whipple's procedure were not clear. Because 13 out of 19 lymph nodes are affected. Because he has a liver met. Because chemo might buy him time but he won't be cured and the average life expectancy is less than 12 months. Because I just want to write this down and have it disappear.

TokyoSushi · 04/12/2020 16:13

Oh @bloodywhitecat I'm so sorry.

NeonIcedcoffee · 04/12/2020 16:13

Me and my partner had a day off together today. We planned to go to town to go to Waitrose ant and the Asian supermarket then maybe get a coffee and walk with it to maybe see some Christmas lights. It's absolutely fucking pissing down so our plans were pretty much ruined.

NeonIcedcoffee · 04/12/2020 16:14

So sorry @bloodywhitecat this is awful

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 04/12/2020 16:18

Oh @bloodywhitecat that is absolutely shit. I'm so sorry.

I8toys · 04/12/2020 16:21

I'm on antibiotics for a tooth infection and going out tonight for the first time in forever. No fucking alcohol for 9 days. Bastard tooth.

I8toys · 04/12/2020 16:21

Sorry bloodywhitecat

sueelleker · 04/12/2020 17:01

Were you told not to have alcohol? The only antibiotic I know that reacts with it is metronidazole.
SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 04/12/2020 17:07

So so sorry bloodywhitecat cancer is a bastard.

Today can fuck off for me because I'm tired and haven't been sleeping properly because I have been worrying about DP who has been in hospital for 6 weeks.

I walked up to the local shops and got soaked through, I unexpectedly saw my elderly parents in the supermarket and took their shopping bags off them to take home so was loaded like a pack horse trudging 1 mile home in the rain. Got through the door and DP messaged to ask if I could pop up the hospital to drop some clean pj's and bits off for him. Still soaked I got some bits together and got the bus to the hospital and back again. Came through the door and the dog looked mournfully at me so I decided I was already wet so just popped her lead on and took her out for her walk. Got back home and had to put the dog in the spare washing up bowl and give her a makeshift bath as her paws and stomach were muddy. Just sat down with a cuppa and feel knackered but know I have to go and sort out DS's bedroom that DP was using as a temporary office because he is home from uni on Sunday. Would just like a hot bath and to go to bed now to be honest.

AriesTheRam · 04/12/2020 17:09

@sueelleker start the antibiotics tomorrow!

I've been working in a class where some children were displaying some very challenging and disruptive behaviour and now I have a pounding headache. Traffic was busier than usual too so it took over an hour to get home.
