Ddog refused to go for a wee before we came to bed. I even carried her out and she just stared at me on the grass looking like a fluffy baked potato. She then woke at 2am and decided she needed to go. She is now snoring next to me, and I’m wide awake on MN.

Chronic insomnia here, so sitting on the patio in my fluffiest dressing gown, having a cheeky cig and a coffee. And wondering why on earth there’s a bird singing at this time of night. He’s giving it his all, and probably wondering why his mates aren’t joining in 😀

PocoyoandEllie · 30/11/2020 04:36

Had a horrible dream, woke up for a wee (37 weeks pregnant) ear infection and feeling sorry for myself. Finding I am worrying every day about baby movements since I had a growth scan last Tuesday and they said growth has dropped a percentile and to keep an eye on the movements 😩 9 more working days left!

Frownette · 30/11/2020 04:36

Heron it's such an awful time. Perhaps you feel like some sort of safety has been taken away from you. Have you spoken to CRUSE?

GentleBen best of luck :)

I'm up trying to find a replacement Mary for naitivite, she's gone lost

Galwaygirl · 30/11/2020 04:37

Dh just got up for work and I woke up! Also, horrible dream about being trapped on the sub way and not being able to get out of there!

YukoandHiro · 30/11/2020 04:38

Thank you @Magicsprinkles that made me laugh aloud for the first time in a few days

ClaireP20 · 30/11/2020 04:38

I'm watching Peppa Pig with my 8 month old baby. She's got a tooth and decided to wake me up by biting my nipple (co sleeping..God help me..) x

MawnyStannit · 30/11/2020 04:38

Am sorry for those of you awake for horrid reasons, I hope tomorrow brings you some peace. And @GentleBen, many many good wishes and best of luck!

watermelonsugar99 · 30/11/2020 04:38

Another here due to a baby. Usually wakes up every hour during the night and now this week he's only been waking up once or twice.. have no idea why my body won't let me sleep when he's finally sleeping!!😂 probably a mixture of anxiety and being used to not sleeping

YukoandHiro · 30/11/2020 04:40

Good luck @GentleBen - you've got this!

PhilCornwall1 · 30/11/2020 04:43

Im just about to adjourn to the "smoking room" too Grin

There is a bird outside here too giving it hell. It's probably lost in the fog. Well, I assume it's fog and not all the insomniac neighbours smoking and vaping.

MrsTravers · 30/11/2020 04:43

@Pipandmum In a similar position.

I'm in an entirely selective county and it's 11+ results day tomorrow. In normal times, I'd have backed DD2 to sail through but have seen her confidence fall through the floor following 6 months off school and having to be at school with everyone going on about it this term (it was postponed - normally done and dusted by the end of the first week). And it will just make it worse for her if she doesn't get through. DD1 didn't and that was absolutely the right route for her and therefore just hasn't had the same impact on her. We have younger DC and I think will have to do a whole lot of thinking about longer term implications. It may well mean we up sticks and move (DH sick of the whole process) which means uprooting DD1 from somewhere she is happy after many years of her not being happy at school and potentially masses of maternal guilt for me if it doesn't work out.

I might have avoided all this angst this evening had DC4 not decided to join us in bed and kick me out.

YukoandHiro · 30/11/2020 04:44

@PocoyoandEllie I feel for you, the last couple of weeks when you're already huge and the have to monitor yourself constantly for movements is the worst.
Hang in there. Finish line is in sight!

Nahmfor · 30/11/2020 04:44

I woke up with a panic attack and thought I was dying. Haven't been able to go back to sleep I'm still shaken

Alittlebitofthis · 30/11/2020 04:46

I woke up an hour ago. I finished my 4th night shift yesterday morning so I always wake early for a couple of nights after.

MawnyStannit · 30/11/2020 04:47

@PhilCornwall1 I’m so glad it’s not just me, I feel like the naughtiest girl in the school when I smoke in the middle of the night 😀. It’s a fairly lonely habit, isn’t it?!

Pr1mr0se · 30/11/2020 04:48

Since kids and night feeds I can't sleep deeply anymore, so here I am. There is never enough sleep around for all of us it seems, one of us always needs to be awake at some point during the night. Sunday nights are the worst.

SpectralPlot · 30/11/2020 04:49

DD phoned having fallen out with her uni flatmates( in another city), crying on the phone to me, just want to be there and give her a cuddle.

popshops · 30/11/2020 04:50

Thanks for all those having a difficult time.

babysnowman · 30/11/2020 04:51

The dog woke me up as she wanted out for a pee, my brain has now taken the opportunity to stress about all things pregnancy and work related

BookParsley · 30/11/2020 04:53

Long term depression. Ya boo

MawnyStannit · 30/11/2020 04:53

@Pr1mr0se, I’ve been somewhat insomniac since I had my first, neither of them ever slept through and I suppose you’re just always on high alert, even when asleep. Eldest is 24 now! Please do what I never did, and see your GP, they may be able to help you reset your sleep pattern somehow.

PhilCornwall1 · 30/11/2020 04:53

It certainly is. An owl decided to join in with the noisy bird, talk about nightmare neighbours!!

The coffee is good though. Starbucks Holiday Blend, very tasty!! 😀

Pr1mr0se · 30/11/2020 04:55

MawnyStannit - thankyou.

MawnyStannit · 30/11/2020 04:57

Phil I’ve just had a Starbucks latte, I’ll have to try the holiday blend too. Glad see you’re getting into the spirit 😀

HeronLanyon · 30/11/2020 05:04

magicsprinkles and frownette thanks !
I may indeed get in touch with cruse (although when I looked into it around 6 months ago they were difficult to contact and nowhere central London seemingly or out of date contact details - just remember it wasn’t at all straightforward - or maybe I wasn’t being straightforward in my quest !)
