Anyone got a ‘Snug’ sofa?

Napqueen1234 · 22/11/2020 19:49

Just that really! It’s a brand rather than just a snugly sofa Smile Look nice on the website, quick delivery and good reviews but wondering if anyone actually has one and any good/bad points? Moving into a small flat soon which will be a nightmare for furniture so thought a flat pack sofa could be perfect. Thanks!

You’re absolutely entitled to believe what you want, but in my case, I joined this group because I wanted a referral code which someone gave to me, and am more than happy to PM others who ask for one, or answer any questions about the cloud sundae.
I think the referral scheme is an absolute win win. I’m most definitely not a sales plant.
I’m so pleased with our sofas - they’ve transformed the sitting room and are so comfortable. After having our old ones for 16 years, they feel like a real luxury.
There’s not too much more to say really. Happy Easter.

Ohthefireplace · 04/04/2021 09:40

@KelKachoze spot on. It’s good to see people joining Mumsnet/ name changing to make one post in support of someone declaring they don’t work for Snug. Solidarity and all that.

@MumBrum you asked for a referral code them on only two days later were dishing them out and raving about the sofa. Also how many referrals do you need if you’ve just bought the sofas? You gonna buy some more because you love them THAT much Blush

Also worth noting generally that I responded to their Trustpilot invite with a negative review but strangely it didn’t make it up there.....shame, the mass of 5 star reviews must have crowded it out.

Hi, I sent you the referral code after we got our sofa and am a bit Shock at some of the comments to you! I also think it’s a great referral scheme and only wish I’d thought to ask for one before we ordered ours!! Glad you’re enjoying yours as much as we are!!

Ha ha I just checked trust pilot and this is the latest review. If this hasn’t been written by a social media employee I’ll eat my uncomfortable gappy snug sofa!

Every happy story starts with an amazing sofa
We purchased The Big Chill three seater and the The Big Chill 1.5 seater, the website makes it so easy to order, the choice is fantastic and the colours are beautiful ... in fact the colours are so nice we struggled to make our minds up - we wanted them all.
Delivery was very speedy ... assembly was exactly as stated! SIMPLE!! Put together in minutes!
Our hallways and doors are very narrow which has limited us previously! Snug sofas are perfect, the boxes are labelled, instructions to tell you what goes where!
The extra ordered cushions really compliment the sofa!
In all - FANTASTIC experience- highly recommended! I’ve been telling / showing my friends and family! Well done Snug team - AMAZING!!

Shivermetimberframe · 04/04/2021 09:50

Getting deeper into this....I searched this site for Snug posts....another thread has a complaint about the sofa only to get this response from a - you guessed it - one time poster, who’s joined just to say the below and left again. Sounds totally like a casual post doesn’t it.....

The snug sofas have a Martindale test rating of 40,000 and are hardwood frames so ticked every box, we made sure the quality was up to scratch before we committed and haven't regretted it!

PenguinBarnotBird · 04/04/2021 09:54

@KelKachoze

Honestly, so many of the previous posters have zero posting history, or very little posting history.

This could not be sending out bigger 'company plugging its product by pretending to be a mummeee' red alert signals if it tried.

If you're going to try to advertise your soft furnishings on Mumsnet on the cheap, at least do a better job of going under the radar. Hmm

Was just coming on to say the same thing !! So bloody transparent Confused
Curlz1978 · 04/04/2021 10:21

I actually feel like such a fool buying one now.I'm still in the 30 day trial so can send it back but such a hassle and will be without a sofa! They should invest less in their marketing and more into improving their product!

goodinacrisis · 04/04/2021 10:42

I didn't realise companies did this but it makes sense I guess. I bet they're all doing it. I check forums and reviews before buying anything and who knows how much is real.

Saying that, some must be genuine! And I take a long time to decide on anything, almost always with a good return policy, and am almost always happy with my choice.

I was really happy with my snug purchase but now this thread is making me nervous!
But it seems to be mostly because one person is really on it with super fast responses to requests for referral codes!

KelKachoze · 04/04/2021 11:11

Yes, I'm absolutely sure lots of companies do this, Goodinacrosis. And to be honest, I'm not overly aerated about that fact - we live in a digital age and most companies will be thinking about exploiting angles for their marketing reach. I'm just mortified for this particular company that they're making such a clumsy and obvious job of it.

Heads up to the PP(s!) thinking about taking this thread into your team meting on Tuesday - maybe don't? Because I don't think it's going to do the job of securing you a nice bonus and pats on the back that you think it will. You've made a bit of a hash of it, in all honesty. Best just to keep quiet about it and move on to another strategy.

goodinacrisis · 04/04/2021 11:24

Haha. I'm not sure that's what is going on here though. If they were doing it, might they actually be doing a better job?? I think this is lots of people wanting to get £50 off and signing up to various forums just to get it!

PenguinBarnotBird · 04/04/2021 11:39

It’s usually fairly obvious even when that company’s own ‘social media’ marketing pushers think they are being subtle Easter Blush

There was one a while back for Lush, so clearly product placement. Reported it and was immediately removed.

Reflects badly on the company.

PushBack · 04/04/2021 11:41

Eeeek! I've given out my referral code to a couple of posters on this thread. All done completely genuinely and with the best of intentions Blush

goodinacrisis · 04/04/2021 11:52

@PushBack yes - me too!!!

MrsFionaCharming · 04/04/2021 15:08

We used to get loads of fake review threads for snag tights, full of players called “mummytotilly” or “Mary637” (sorry if those are real posters!). They seem to have eased off now.

Katieweasel · 04/04/2021 15:21

I have the big chill 3 seater (grey) and the navy blue velvet snuggler and foot stool. I live in a small house with extremely limited access so the flat packed design was excellent. Fitted together quickly and easily. Downside is the seat cushions move forward really easily meaning that I constantly have to keep pushing them back. If I'm honest it is also one of the most uncomfortable sofas that I've ever sat on. The snuggler is more comfortable and I'm hoping the sofa will become more comfortable with wear. They look lovely but if you look closely they are not very well made. Wonky seams etc and I agree that the snug labels look tacky. Also be warned the velvet attracts so much dust and fluff. An expensive mistake for me. Very overpriced for the quality of the product in my opinion.

Hi there

Just wondered whether anyone has a referral code for snug sofa - considering making my first purchase but they don’t seem to do any first time discount codes! Many thanks

Nulare · 09/04/2021 23:16

I hardly ever get to share my code. I'm usually too late... sent you a PM... good luck with it!
Shadowingshadows · 10/04/2021 10:10

I wouldn’t @Nulare I’ve had dreadful problems and trust pilot reviews show a LOT of issues lately. Damaged or badly made sofas and poor customer service when trying to sort....

Curlz1978 · 10/04/2021 10:33

I agree.I'm sending mine back after 2 weeks..not worth the money in my opinion!

stuckinarutatwork · 10/04/2021 10:35

Really bad sofas. Ours was returned (and that was a BIG hassle). Badly made, uncomfortable and over-priced (to cover the huge marketing budget no doubt).

goodinacrisis · 10/04/2021 10:48

I think the problem with sofas is that they are similar to mattresses - everyone likes something a bit different. I hate my parents sofa for example, but they love it!

I think sofa buying will be a lot easier once we are allowed to go and sit on them in showrooms again!

I still like my Snug, but can appreciate that others don't like them. If you live close to a showroom, may I suggest waiting until Monday and going to have a look?

Good luck with your sofa searches to all!

Shadowingshadows · 10/04/2021 11:31

@goodinacrisis It’s not just different tastes - mine is totally faulty and I have to send pieces back which is a massive hassle. Seems to be a common complaint on Trust Pilot and the company literally don’t seem to give a shit. I’ve not had any apology so far.
