Not sure if this is right but I heard that if Trump steps down, then Pence will become President and in return he can pardon Trump so that he cant be prosecuted for things like tax evasion etc. I reckon he might do this.

For some perhaps it may have been a case of better the devil you know. 2020 has been filled with so much uncertainty.

@DrinkFeckArseGirls None of us knows what Biden does in his private life. He certainly has history of being handsy with adult women (not necessarily in a sexual way, but not respecting personal boundaries). But he also lost a daughter at the same age as the girl in the video and I imagine that seeing children of that age is unbearably poignant.

It's impossible to know what his motives were, and I'm not defending him for failing to notice the child was uncomfortable, but his motives were not necessarily sinister. And the Trump campaign would have loved to find evidence pointing at Biden being a predator, to feed the Q'anon madness, but seem to have come up with nothing.

Well quite, although sadly politics finds men with a string of historic allegations and evidenced behaviour absolutely fine to be in the race for arguably one of the most important jobs on the planet. It's so prevelent that 'the best of a bad bunch' is seen as acceptable. The only redeeming thing is that it's kept Trump out and it's likely Biden will hand over to Kamala at some point.

They surely can’t allow them to manipulate the system to enable him to be pardoned! The disgusting excuse for a human being needs to be out in trial and ideally locked up for a long time. However, if there is a way for him to manipulate the legal system he will.......

There are several women who reported him at the time (90s onwards) for inappropriate behaviour, I don't think they had the foresight to do so decades ago just in case it would be useful one day in a smear campaign. We all know women aren't often listened to or taken seriously though when they come forward.

Even if Trump's ego would let him stand down (unlikely), Presidential pardons only cover federal crimes. There are plenty of States lining up to put The Wotsit In Chief into an orange jumpsuit.

I'm not defending him - I'm not a Biden fan (he's just better than the alternative). I'm just saying that one YouTube video of him stroking a child's hair does not = paedophile.

He could only pardon Trump for federal crimes. State based crimes (e.g., taxes not paid to the state of NY), nope. The Southern District of New York prosecutors have been after him for years.
