My mum left me and the family a bag of black peas so I’m currently cooking up a Carby storm of back peas with carrots and celery, dauphinois potatoes and some veg on the side for a bit of greenery.

My house smells amazing and I love this time of year!

I have also no u her some rainbow carrots for a twist on a veg casserole for tomorrow night Grin

It's pouring down with rain here, it's cold and so obviously DS has requested ... Chicken Caesar Salad :( I don't fancy it but I've taken the chicken out of the freezer to defrost and bought a fancy lettuce so we're having it anyway!

Lsquiggles · 27/10/2020 12:09

Spag bol, cba to cook anything adventurous and I'm in the mood for comfort food Grin

I am in bed due to a combination of the tail end of a migraine, a cold, & I've eaten something with wheat in & my stomach has ballooned very painfully. So DH is making my usual "poorly" tea - sweet potato wedges with garlic salt, sliced tomato, & a fried egg.

Themadcatparade · 27/10/2020 12:12

@Littlebreadandbutterflies sounds ace, I’ll give it a go over the week thank you! I’ll have to replace the Parmesan tho we are dairy free in this house!

I'm planning to attempt roast chicken with chorizo and lemon stuffing - first time I will have made it - it just sounded good, so why not, eh? Also Greek roast potatoes (with lemon, garlic and olive oil) and something green, probably broccoli.

CaffeineInfusion · 27/10/2020 12:14

Using up the last of whatever is in the fridge.

So mince beef with onion, leek, swede, carrot and possibly an old chilli.

I have a couple of potatoes and frozen peas. If we're hungry enough, it will taste ok😁

I have a shopping delivery due for late tonight. Tomorrow will be leftover mince concoction, plus mash and whatever veg gets delivered.

mommybear1 · 27/10/2020 12:15

Chorizo one pot - an eat well for less recipe 😋

InFlagranteDerelicto · 27/10/2020 12:35

Ooh that sounds nice @Littlebreadandbutterflies. I just got a rice cooker as my favourite carbohydrate is rice but I usually forget & burn it on the hob. I just figured out the other day how to do a nice risotto in it that's actually creamy.

Ninkanink · 27/10/2020 12:39

Mmmm I fancy a chorizo, spinach and butter bean stew this week...Might do that on Thursday - already have roast beef leftovers for tomorrow which we will have with a trayful of Yorkshire pudding and veg. Can’t wait!

MsSquiz · 27/10/2020 12:45

I slow cooked a gammon joint in coke yesterday and shredded it. We are having it tonight with homemade oven chips, roasted carrots & cheese sauce

BillywigSting · 27/10/2020 12:46

Roast chicken with stuffing, sprouts, carrots and peas, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, maybe mashed potatoes too and buckets of gravy.

Yesterday was beef and mushroom stew with boiled potatoes and cabbage and crusty bread.

It's been cold and wet and miserable, and I've got too much time on my hands at the moment with ds isolating so I'm doing lots of comfort food.

Might do salmon, sticky rice and green beans tomorrow or something with the packet of mince in the fridge.

Littlebreadandbutterflies · 27/10/2020 12:56

@InFlagranteDerelicto I've used a rice cooker for years and never knew you could make risotto in it! 🤯

Drogonssmile · 27/10/2020 12:58

Jacket potatoes, naice ham, vintage cheddar and salad with coleslaw.

Crystal87 · 27/10/2020 14:32

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, carrots, mushy peas, gravy.

MonkeyPuddle · 27/10/2020 14:35

What was going to be chicken thighs with pasta carbonara is now sausage with pasta carbonara as the chicken is 5 days out of date Grin

Mytinyman · 27/10/2020 15:21

Chicken korma with homemade chips and naan bread (hate rice)

Shinyletsbebadguys · 27/10/2020 15:25

Mines a slightly bizzarre one but I'm Keto and as DC are at their df for half term I'm playing with new recipes.

So I am reliving my youth and recreating a keto version of the Mario's burger from the burger van outside Loughborough student union. At least I think it was Mario's. It was twenty years ago and the details escape me , the burger very much has not faded as one of the greatest burgers I've ever eaten Grin.

I am mildly aware I was probably quite drunk eating it 20 years ago after a night in the union so I have no idea how this will go.

AdoraBell · 27/10/2020 20:01

CNBA tonight, did tinned veg and packet mash to go with the leftover beef. Added whole grain mustard and butter to the mash to make it, almost, palatable.

Sertchgi123 · 27/10/2020 20:03

We had chicken portions, roasties, carrots, cauliflower, green beans and gravy.

sassafras123 · 27/10/2020 20:47

BorderlineHappy · 28/10/2020 13:22

Andrew2020 · 28/10/2020 13:38

@Toilenstripes

Chicken a la king over rice. Never made it before. 😬
Ooh, is that because you love the Chicken Alexander from Cook? If so, please let me know what it was like!!
Bluesheep8 · 28/10/2020 13:52

Asian spiced turkey mince with brown rice. It's a weight watchers recipe
