Do you have a hobby?

Looking for some inspiration here, and making a wishlist on the eve of stricter lockdowns for when this all is over.

So, what are your hobbies? What do you wish your hobbies could be?

Sewing and knitting, mainly.

weekfour · 16/10/2020 21:48

I'm a cyclist.

Sorry.

QueenofLouisiana · 16/10/2020 21:53

Yoga and needle felting. Needle felting is incredibly therapeutic.

PegasusReturns · 16/10/2020 21:58

Mostly I like eating and drinking with friends Grin

Otherwise I ride (horses and bikes); run short distances; interior design; boulder; cook/bake; play piano; read and do a bit of sewing/embroidery.

jess3817 · 16/10/2020 22:17

Read.
Yoga.
Running.
Baking - bad at it though😂
Just bought stuff this week to start needle felting

GlummyMcGlummerson · 16/10/2020 22:18

Yes but it's very very very very outing.

It involves feet and moving fast. That's all I'll say.

BikeRunSki · 16/10/2020 22:33

I’m a cyclist
MN hates me

Also outdoor swimming

cobpickles · 16/10/2020 22:35

@Dowser

Dowsing. Been doing it 8 years
I’ve never understood the point of dowsing. What do you enjoy about it?
SarahAndQuack · 16/10/2020 22:48

I quilt (English paper piecing) by hand; I'm currently finishing off a quilt for my daughter's bed and a queen size quilt for our spare room. I love it because it's both very simple and also so, so much nicer than anything you can buy. The only thing it takes is time.

I wish I could crochet - I'm a beginner but my DP is so much better - and I wish I could embroider.

I also garden, and make dresses for my DD, and cook, and get on with the ongoing process of getting our house more liveable (minor DIY/major interior dec).

Bookaholic73 · 16/10/2020 22:50

I love blogging, reading and hiking.
And I’ve developed a habit of uploading Instagram stories and love it!

Tiredbutwireless · 16/10/2020 23:02

Yoga
Riding (or just being around) horses
Outdoor swimming
Reading
I must relearn how to read music as I played piano a zillion years ago too

DustyMaiden · 17/10/2020 00:56

Paint pouring for me too, not been doing it very long.

StillMedusa · 17/10/2020 01:06

Guitar.. started learning classical guitar 3 years ago at nearly 50 and I love it!
I'm also learning Italian (slowly)
I crochet badly and am working on a blanket that may take years

lightlypoached · 17/10/2020 02:02

Yoga, dancing, knitting, sewing, gardening, playing the piano (badly), book club, surprised I have any time for actual work, which pays for them all Wink

ShinyGreenElephant · 17/10/2020 02:07

Negotiating with toddlers to wear more than one shoe and that pants are an essential item when leaving the house. Giving mini teenagers all my money. Being shouted at through the door while I shit. Folding washing 23/24 hours every day.

Wincarnis · 17/10/2020 04:33

Gardening, Reading, Sewing, Jigsaw puzzles, Board games, Dog walking, Baking, photography, last but not least... Cycling (sorry!)

garlictwist · 17/10/2020 06:32

My main hobby is running which I have done since adolescence.

I also like cycling when it's not cold and wet.

Indoors, I am a massive Francophile so watch French things on YouTube a lot, play guitar (awfully) and read.

Jemenfouscompletement · 17/10/2020 06:48

Sport - mainly running, I run every day, 80 miles a week. Cycling when weather permits and swimming once or twice a week. I live in France so lots of trails and roads without a lot of traffic ideal for running and cycling.
Trying to go back to piano playing (Grade 8 when I was15 but a lot worse now)
Used to love reading but no time now so listen to audiobooks when running alone instead.

JonasKahnwald · 17/10/2020 08:12

I need a hobby. I'm cutting down in my alcohol intake so need something to occupy me. I'm the type of person who if I'm not instantly good at something I give up 😒 I've tried knitting, crocheting etc but too fiddly for me.

googles paint pouring

CormoranStrike · 17/10/2020 08:43

Photography, cycling, sewing - I will turn my hand to anything crafty (apart from knitting)

WankPuffins · 17/10/2020 08:45

No, I don’t have time. I do like to watch/read ablut conspiracies if I have time.

Dh royally fucked me off yesterday saying that the kids are my ‘hobby’ Angry

Teaandchocolatedigestives · 17/10/2020 08:46

Yoga
Reading
Cooking/baking
Writing
Drawing
Going for walks

Iseeyoulookingatme · 17/10/2020 08:47

I love to go charity shop shopping, obviously I can't do that on lock down. I also love puzzles, gardening when it's not too cold. I also have a crafty business which I would also class as a hobby as I love doing it so much. I did take up running for a bit but gave it up as it was too much for me.

DillonPanthersTexas · 17/10/2020 08:47

I have a hobby but it is very outing. Think a human powered device on two wheels and lycra but I can't say any more.
