I have a ginger ragamuffin and he is the sweetest most placid animal I’ve ever come across. He is often found being pushed around in my DS’s dolls buggy with a blanket over him.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/10/2020 21:40

Meant to post one of him awake!

I've had a few cats over the years and the two ginger toms I had were the softest, most affectionate cats by far. If I ever have another cat it will be a ginger.

YorkshireGirl35 · 14/10/2020 21:54

Our ginger Tom is an utter softie and always following us around for attention and food. However he is a huge cat so I think other cats just generally don’t mess with him and he would make it clear if he was unhappy with us.

My gorgeous boys curled up together.

I've had nice gingers. I've a cream British shorthair & a tabby one. The tabby is a lovely boy & the cream one is a fucking bitch most of the time.

frugalkitty · 14/10/2020 22:20

My ginger boy is a cantankerous old bugger and is a bit of a split personality....he wants to be fussed and loved but I think he hits overload and then just flips, he can't help it. His brother is exactly the same (my brother has him). He's fab, but I remember in the early days wondering if we could keep him (DS2 was a baby at the time and I was very wary of him getting scratched). Wouldn't be without him though, he's nuts and species-confused, often acting like a dog.

I concur its torties you have to watch out for, though ours only randomly attacks DH 'cos I'm her mummy!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/10/2020 22:26

Monty is divine! As are all the other gingers featured 😁

Rocky says hello.

I have a big ginger tom who is the loveliest, most placid but also most useless lump ever. Absolutely brainless. Has never shown the slightest hint of aggression other than headbutting your legs when he wants some love. Adores my daughter and has done since she was tiny. He's old and doesn't do much now other than eat and sleep but he used to bang on her bedroom door every morning to be let in and played with, and would appear at 7pm on the dot in her room every night for a bedtime story.

The vet also loves him because he's so unbothered about any kind of treatment and just sits there purring.

He had a sister who died about a year ago, a tortie half his size, who got all the family brains. She was also lovely and had no aggression at all but was a bit of a princess who liked everything to be on her terms, and often took a fancy to random men and made a show of herself flirting with them.

TheLongRider · 14/10/2020 22:42

This is Nemo, found on a riverside walk two months ago. He's an absolute delight and a total softy but with an opinion on everything.

My vet described most ginger boys as like big country fellas, fairly easy going and find of their grub.

I've had ginger girl cats and they've been the cleverest of any cat I've ever had, but quite aggressive if they didn't get their own way.

My ginger cat is very sleepy, cuddly, greedy and loves nothing more than being wrapped up in a rug. He isn't one for going out much either! My tiny tabby girl is the brave one

Icequeen01 · 14/10/2020 22:51

I have two ginger boys. They are the most gorgeous boys ever but both are very nervous of other people. One can get a bit bitey when over stimulated by being brushed but apart from that he is a total sweetheart and always indoors and likes to be near us. The other one likes to be out in the fields but when he comes home he is glued to you. They are adored!

Thanks Lardlizard!

He's currently sporting a cone of shame and very put out about it Hmm

He says hello to all his ginger brethren!

Icequeen are they brothers? They look like twins! Gingers are the best (with all other cats coming a very close second 😂)

kittensarecute · 15/10/2020 00:42

Love all these beautiful kitties ❤

TheHighestSardine · 15/10/2020 00:50

Had (counts on fingers) nine gingers over the years, and they cover the personality range from standoffish&bitey over to calm&cuddly and mental&vocal. Most in the calm&cuddly area though.

All the torties have been quiet and cuddly and always hungry though. Little kitchen trip-hazards, the lot of them.

Kokeshi123 · 15/10/2020 03:21

I always seem to find black and white cats are the friendliest. Gingers, no idea.

People say chestnut horses are "hot," blacks are unpredictable, bays and browns are steady etc. I don't know if there is any science behind it.

Crankycranium0 · 15/10/2020 03:32

My boy leroy, he follows me to bed, he sits with me in the bathroom. He is the most gentle loving mummies boy
