I take two (Vit D and Vit C). Just found out that my sister takes 14?! Various including turmeric, vitamins, something for her gut, agnus something or other, cod liver oil, etc

What's everyone else doing? Am I behind the times?

Magnesium for muscle spasms, and to help me sleep, and maca root for my menopausal hormones.

AuntieMarys · 12/10/2020 19:14

Magnesium
Turmeric
Vit b12
Vit d spray

pinkbalconyrailing · 12/10/2020 19:15

@doctorhamster

A multivitamin.

Why are people taking a multivitamin plus extra vitamins on top? Surely the extra vitamins are all in the multivitamin at the recommended daily dose anyway?

for vit d3 the amount included in a multi vitamin tablet is just not enough for many people. same for minerals, my magnesium tablets are quite big.
Jennygentle · 12/10/2020 19:15

Vitamin D since COVID
Biotin for vanity
Cod liver oil
Sage for hot flushes

Ginfordinner · 12/10/2020 19:17

Just vit D. I eat loads of veg of all types so don't think I am missing out on anything else.

Dowser · 12/10/2020 19:28

Loads
Everyday
Vit d3 with k2 to help it absorb
Zinc ascorbate drops
Good quality vit c
Multi absorb vitamin b
Concentrace
Coral calcium from the Caribbean not japan
Red clover, Chandra piedra as I may have a kidney stone
Ionic selenium with nascent iodine
I brew my own colloidal silver and take with a few drops of food grade h2O2

When needed
Goldenseal for digestive issues..also good to rub in gum for toothache
Dandelion if kidneys ache a bit
Various homeopathic remedies from ones for toothache, digestive problems, help sleep, stress, fear, depression and grief..been such a help throughout this pandemic, plus any others I Dowsers for if needed
Dmso
Msm powder
Bentonite clay
Charcoal tablets
Citricidal
Viragon
Olive leaf extract
Goldenseal

Those are just a small portion of what’s in my medicine cupboards.
Obviously I don’t take them all at once, but they are in my arsenal if needed as I like to mix things up a bit so my body doesn’t get too used to the same remedy

I will also dowse them to see if needed.

I’m nearly 69 . Last weeks blood results were good, and so is bp.
I’m on no prescriptive medication and I’ve been lucky enough to have stayed quite well over the decades.

Anyone taking vit d3 should look it up. The advice I understand is to take k2 with it.
I also keep garlic. Lemon, white onion and organic honey on standby in case we get a nasty cough
I also keep essentially oils handy , lavender and geranium for uplift, peppermint for bloating, clove for toothache, eucalyptus good anti viral and tea tree
I have loads of others m but they are my main ones

I also have the full set of Bach flower remedies ( I trained at mt vernon) and they are excellent for treating any mental problems..as in mind problems.

I also have the 17 jack temple stone circle remedies

I also have the full set of schuessler tissue salts..and about 250 of the narayani Remedies
I have two radionic machines and looking to buy a third when restrictions on international parcel posting are lifted

Multi vitamin and extra vitamin d
Just don't ask how much medication I take Grin

Ken1976 · 12/10/2020 19:40

None. I have none in the house . I've never taken them and I'm 67 . I think I get all my necessary vitamins from my food . Most of them are just expelled from your body .

hopsalong · 12/10/2020 19:42

A shit load, in bursts of erratic enthusiasm.
But I am not keen on big tablets or multivitamins. I prefer softgels and find them much easier to take and easier on my stomach.

Every day (unless I forget):
Iron (recently Dayonix liquid which I like a lot)
K2, D3
Nutrof total (for eyes, has fish oil and lutein, astaxanthin, zinc etc)
Magnesium
N-acetyl cysteine (antioxidant and helps with my constantly blocked sinuses)

Also (sporadically):
Oregano oil softgels for stomach and immune system
Black seed oil and apple cider vinegar (I drink these)
Coq10 with PQQ (this makes a massive difference to my energy level but is about £1 a day so I only take it when run down)
Probiotics
Berocca (if hungover)
Turmeric (I blend the root into orange juice to copy those little shots they sell)

Floralnomad · 12/10/2020 19:44

I take nothing , I already take too many prescribed tablets per day . Dh takes COD liver oil and a magnesium supplement and the dog takes Nicotinamide, coatex ( to help absorb the nicotinamide) and something for his joints .

olivo · 12/10/2020 19:49

Multivitamin and mineral
SR vit b complex
Acidophilus
Digestive enzyme ( those 2 totally sorted my IBS)
Vit d
Flaxseed oil

Really notice if no vit b or digestive ones.

mizu · 12/10/2020 19:57

Berocca in the winter. Nothing else. Looking at this thread though, I'm thinking perhaps I should be taking more!

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 12/10/2020 19:59

I take a multivitamin that's optimised for people eating a vegan diet and also a vegan omega 3 supplement. I take extra iron during my period. A lot of the dairy alternatives I eat are also fortified with different vitamins. I occasionally log my meals into chronometer and nothing much seems to be missing. My dp takes nothing, despite my nagging. He eats mostly plant based and I'm anxious about his B12.

A multi vit, vit c with zinc, and vit d and iron (except I have run out of vit d and iron so need to go get some more).

QuestionableMouse · 08/10/2021 14:13

A good vit/min supplement
Probiotics but once they're finished I probably won't buy any more. Had 8+ courses of antibiotics this year so felt like they were a good idea.

TwoBlueFish · 08/10/2021 14:19

Vitamin D (recommended by the GP as my levels were low) and turmeric.

SuperstarDog · 08/10/2021 14:19

I take a multivitamin made for vegans and also extra vitamin d.

Heronatemygoldfish · 08/10/2021 14:23

Vitamin D 2000iu and have done for years ever since my GP said my blood levels were virtually undetectable... If I took nothing else, I'd take this.

H&B Super hair (or whatever they've decided to call it this month) which has daft amounts of B vits/Biotin and C, zinc, copper etc, but weirdly no Vit D.

I bought it as a trial because my hair was falling out as if I was post-childbirth and someone said to try Biotin. I was rather sceptical yet was amazed to find it worked for me.

Iron for a month every 3 or 4 months because I'm semi-veggie and tend to get anaemic, but not all the time now I'm post-menopause.

slavetothekittens · 08/10/2021 14:25
