Where the hell did these jeans go?!

Took them out of the wardrobe, turned around and put them on the chest of drawers, answered a text, nipped for a wee and came back and they've gone.

No one else in the house, the room is tiny, definitely not still in the wardrobe or down the back of drawers.

Where the hell are they?!

Down the back of the chest of drawers

LakeFlyPie · 04/10/2020 15:16

My favourite dress disappeared several years ago and still live in hope that it'll turn up one day. A colleague has the same one and I yearn after mine every time I see her wear it!

custardbear · 04/10/2020 15:18

Ironing pile, Washing machine or freezer?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/10/2020 15:22

Have you turned them inside out and hung them up ( so they gaslight you by looking different ?)

custardbear · 04/10/2020 15:23

My glasses went missing for around 5 days,
I found them on top of the microwave where is looked a few times - they were behind a box of eggs, im positive I'd checked because I'd had the bloody microwave out and checked behind it - I looked ridiculous using prescription sunglasses to watch telly at night 😆
Don't laugh, I feel ridiculous typing this, but I asked my dead mum to help, I'm sure I've heard before, on MN I think, dead relatives fuck about hiding things ... 👻🤪

Crocky · 04/10/2020 15:26

My daughter came in an hour ago and took her shoes off in the hallway. She has now lost them 😆 no idea where they are.

ScarMatty · 04/10/2020 15:32

Fantastic thread!

1forAll74 · 04/10/2020 15:33

Did you inadvertently shut a window with the jeans in your hand before you thought you had put them down to go elsewhere, so maybe dropped through the window into a garden or pathway. You have to think of everything when doolally things happen.!

custardbear · 04/10/2020 15:36

@LakeFlyPie - oooo ive seen that on a TV programme, she was stalking either the woman or her husband, I can't remember which now and she stole it from her house 😳 and wore it to flaunt at her - then PIT IT BACK when she commented on it - comment to your colleague on her dress and it may turn up 🤔

PeskyRooks · 04/10/2020 15:37

I've said this before on threads like this but you need to go to the centre of your home and out loud day Can I have my jeans back please? It will either come in your head where they are or you will see them. This happens to me all the time particularly when I lived in a spooky flat.

Ironmanrocks · 04/10/2020 15:43

We actually need a diagram. A floor plan of your whole house and where you think you walked to text and wee etc.

Ironmanrocks · 04/10/2020 15:44

Also, were they folded or flat or on a hanger?

Annoyance · 04/10/2020 15:46

@LakeFlyPie Here's how you find it. Spend an hour on Ebay finding an identical one. Buy it. It'll be sod's law that the original one suddenly gets found the next day Hmm
AnotherNamedChanged · 04/10/2020 15:51

Are they in the bath? As in, you had them under your arm (didn't actually put them on the drawers), answered the text with them still under your arm, sat down for a wee, hung them over the edge of the bath, they slipped off and into the bath and now the shower curtain is blocking your view of them?

TJH1 · 04/10/2020 15:54

@PeskyRooks “Can I have my Jeans back please?” Your post has me in hysterics
Just the image of someone shouting this.

Branleuse · 04/10/2020 15:55

Following. I lost my hoover once. How do you lose a hoover fgs?

PeskyRooks · 04/10/2020 15:58

@TJH1
I know it sounds crazy!
But it honestly has worked for me many times! Grin

northbacchus · 04/10/2020 16:04

My mum had a knife go missing before, little bit scary I know. In the meantime, I moved out of my parents house and well over a year passed. The knife then mysteriously turned up in my sock drawer!

No idea whatsoever how that happened.

Is your colleague the same size as your dress?
Mummyoflittledragon · 04/10/2020 16:09

We lost dds 3ds somewhere in the house and in the end I bought another one. 6 months later we were going on holiday and I said we need to take it. I got dds second one and a 3ds appeared in the middle of the hallway. Dd, dh and I all clearly said we didn’t put it there. It was most odd. So perhaps your jeans have gone to the same place as the 3ds.

Ulpo · 04/10/2020 16:09

Where did you answer the phone? I bet you took them with you.

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/10/2020 16:10

Slopes
Yeah I was also wondering that.

BearSoFair · 04/10/2020 16:12

Have they turned up yet OP?

Similar happened to me last year, a postcard I had propped on the bookcase fell down. Bent to pick it up, no sign. Checked under the bookcase itself, under the table and chairs next to the bookcase, along the top of the books in case it had somehow drifted back onto them...even underneath the cushions on the chairs as if there was anyway it could have slipped inbetween the cushion and chair. Have never seen it again and it was about a year ago now!

TroysMammy · 04/10/2020 16:13

There must be a jeans stealing creature about as I've lost a pair too. They needed to be washed but only got as far as the laundry basket in the bedroom. I know I gave 2 pairs to the charity shop the other day but they were both clean, folded and in another room. My lost jeans were dirty and scrunched up. On the plus side they had got a bit small for me but because of covid I can't be arsed to go shopping as I won't be able to try clothes on and I cannot be arsed to go through the faff of returning them.

Bluetrews25 · 04/10/2020 16:16

I also thought they would be with the mythical missing ironing board.
Or OP has put them on underneath the second pair she went out in.
