@EternalOptimist7

Where can I get massaman curry paste, palm sugar & tamarind paste?
You should be able to get those online at Morrison’s, Sainsbury’s or any other big supermarket. Otherwise Souschef is likely to have them.

Thanks! 🙂 We do like to cook, and really enjoy our food...Those meals I mentioned are all very simple but delicious.

bearlyactive · 02/10/2020 16:25

Spaghetti and homemade meatballs in tomato sauce.

miimblemomble · 02/10/2020 16:49

It's cold, it's raining... it's Raclette time!

Melted cheese, potatoes, charcuterie, white wine: yum.

Ninkanink · 02/10/2020 16:52

Melty cheese and wine...Ohhhh that’s perfect for my mood today...

WonderMoon · 02/10/2020 17:15

Slow cooked chicken breast in a tomato and garlic sauce with some spicy rice.

Anotherdayanothernight · 02/10/2020 17:18

Duck ragu with pappardelle and lots of Parmesan, and a glass of chianti

Ooh now I’m jealous. I’m making chilli beef nachos with home made gloop, but yours wins!
badlydrawnbear · 02/10/2020 17:28

It's Friday, so we are having pizza.

spagbog5 · 02/10/2020 17:33

Lamb and pearl barley hotpot with crusty bread and butter to mop up the gravy .
And wine 🍷

FizzyPink · 02/10/2020 17:36

Supposed to be risotto but DP has declared this not exciting enough for a Friday so we’re going to take a trip to Sainsbury’s to choose something more treaty, maybe a pizza

TheChosenTwo · 02/10/2020 18:19

Mexican.
Crab tacos, chorizo quesadillas and blackened steak in some kind of flatbread and garlic butter prawns, guacamole and probably some kind of spicy wedges.
Dh and dd2 are cooking up a storm, I’m sat in front of the fire with a nice drink... I think I’ve got the better end of the deal 😂

TeddyIsaHe · 02/10/2020 18:22

@TheChosenTwo please snaffle the recipes from them because that sounds amaaaaazing!

SilenceOfTheEmu · 02/10/2020 18:24

Tadka Dahl with rice Wine

TheChosenTwo · 02/10/2020 18:30

@TeddyIsaHe they are all largely based on recipes from the Wahaca books but with some adjustments I think. I don’t know, I just do the eating!! But they are delicious and Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights are all about eating the good stuff! Well, and the other days of the week to be fair...

weegiemum · 02/10/2020 18:37

Indian takeaway.

I've cooked from scratch every night this week (well, to be fair dh mainly did it on Tuesday on his day off) and I'm tired. Not been doing much but am disabled so cooking is a multi-hour sitting-down extravaganza here!!

Dh is having korma with Aloo Gobi, ds is on the tikka masala and I'm having aloo channa with mushroom pilau rice. Naan bread all round.

The leftovers will do lunch tomorrow!

bettsbattenburg · 02/10/2020 18:49

Spiced baked chicken, roasted corn on the cob and patatas bravas.

Beautyoftheirdreams · 02/10/2020 18:51

It's my birthday so we're getting takeaway curry. I can't wait

SerenityNowwwww · 02/10/2020 18:51

I just face pasta again this week. It’s been a pig of a week work wise and I’m wrapping up now, DH has a while to go. Maybe a fast chilly or ‘whatever is in the fridge’ thrown together. With cheese and a bottles of wine.

PickAChew · 02/10/2020 18:53

Pork loin, roasted to the consistency of leather, with roast taties, M&S carrot and swede, peas, broccoli and onion gravy.

I always regret actually using my meat thermometer. It's going on the bin.

mbosnz · 02/10/2020 19:00

Friday night is takeaway night, and it's DH's turn to choose - sounds like it's local Italian - wahay!

FineAndDandyy · 02/10/2020 19:01

Honey glazed gammon with potatoes and veg.

EternalOptimist7 · 03/10/2020 12:50

What can I use if I don’t have groundnut oil for the quick beef massaman?

EternalOptimist7 · 03/10/2020 12:53

And when it says beef cut into strips, would that be steak?

40somethingJBJ · 03/10/2020 13:15

I’ve got a beef and veg stew in the slow cooker for later. Just thrown all the veg I needed to use up in it and it’s smelling blooming lovely.
