Is my thumb weird?

If I give someone a thumbs up with my left hand, this is what it looks like... I tend to use the other hand because DP says it's weird.

Do your thumbs do this? Is my thumb weird or is DP weird?

Both of mine have always gone waaay back (further than your pic) and I always though it was normal. DH says it's freaky... If I try to make it 'look' straight it feel like it's bent half forwards...

I can do that with both my thumbs. My mum can as well

DS and I have just compared with your pictures and we both have B thumbs, as in your second picture.

I am 50 and have never noticed this before, even though seeing your OP photo I was startled and "WTF is up with her thumb" Clearly I never look closely at my own hands

Yep mine are like that too.

Not only does my thumb do that at the top joint but it also bends back at the bottom joint too. Plus my fingers all bend backwards as well. In fact when I was younger I could bend my left index finger so far back at the knuckle joint it would lie flat along the back of my hand, I've lost that flexibility now though. Also double jointed at my elbows and knees as well.

My DS can do that, he's hyper mobile. He can also touch his wrist with his thumb

Mine do it too- and the funny top joint only bend. It made playing the clarinet impossible as a child, too flexible for the keys.

My toes are similar- anyone else?

Both mine do it the right slightly more than the left

I can fold my fingers totally flat against my palm (using my other hand to push them the final bit but needing minimal pressure) is that weird?

I can bend them all quite far back too
