Watch us wreck the mike, watch us wreck the mike, watch us wreck the mike.

Oh well, come on in whatever the laws where you are. Plenty of space in this bubble of sanity Wink

Actually seemed quite a sensible one by the BBC today. All the rest is a pile of Doom.

Orangeblossom7777 · 21/09/2020 09:52

Ah sorry just reading back and seeing that one was already posted.

PickAChew · 21/09/2020 09:56

@nothingiswrong and @DominaShantotto

Hugs for both of you. Feeling alone in your own home is never a good thing but there are times when it's definitely a worse thing than others.

flower11 · 21/09/2020 10:03

I'm more stressed and anxious now than in march/ April at least then we knew where we stood. Now they change the rules every 5 min. I can't plan cause don't know if the school bubble will pop or the text of doom will come. Dd is so happy to be back doing her sports , looks like that may be taken away again. They both have October/ November birthday can't plan for that, not even friend round for tea. I haven't seen my parents since December as they live 5 hours away and mum has had health issues. We were just looking at them coming for birthday. Probably still will and call it a bubble. Though not sure I can cope with them for two weeks if we get caught out!

Reedwarbler · 21/09/2020 10:21

I do honestly wonder if Boris will cut and run at some point. This is all such a mess.

wanderings · 21/09/2020 10:41

@flower11 I agree that in a way, it feels worse than March and April. We just don't know what will be snatched away next. And like the sadists that they are, they're enjoying making us wait to find out. I just wish that we could hit back in some way. It's a long wait until the ballot box, and yes, @Reedwarbler, I've been thinking the same. His own party might even get rid of him, as I think they realise he's becoming the unacceptable face of the party.

BillywilliamV · 21/09/2020 11:03

It may not be a popular opinion but I really think it’s incompetence that is the issue, not actual sadism!

ISaySteadyOn · 21/09/2020 11:21

Boris, yes, agree. But you can't tell me that rodent of a Hancock isn't enjoying every second of this.

110APiccadilly · 21/09/2020 11:22

Boris does whatever he thinks will get him votes. The plus of this is that when public opinion turns, he'll probably turn with it.

DominaShantotto · 21/09/2020 11:39

This frog in a pan of boiling water knows bloody well it's got hot in here - but some fucker's put the lid on and caged me up with no escape.

Reedwarbler · 21/09/2020 12:24

@LivinLaVidaLoki another one for the bingo card - "circuit breaker".
Why is it every new pronouncement from Downing Street has to come with attached buzzwords? It's so annoying.

RealityExistsInTheHumanMind · 21/09/2020 12:28

@BillywilliamV

Does anyone know if I can get a Corona virus dressing up costume...too early?

Here is a great tutorial for making a plague mask

Bollss · 21/09/2020 12:30

Yes I think Boris is incompetent. He's probably desperately trying to do the "right thing" but he keeps getting it wrong. Whitty on the other hand? Wants everyone's life's to be as shit as his imo. He doesn't look like a happy man. Matt Hancock well... Yes he's enjoying this I think.

I do think Boris will leave sooner or later he looks broken.

Orangeblossom7777 · 21/09/2020 12:30

Lots of dementing after the scientists briefing today I think

Are you safe right now?
RealityExistsInTheHumanMind · 21/09/2020 12:58

Jeremy Vine's first segment started well.

Virologist saying all these experts on sage but not one is a virologist. The virus is here to stay. The vulnerable should do what they do when flu is rife and the rest of us should get on with things - including catching and recovering from Covid19, that a 6th of colds are currently caused by a coronavirus (as we have already noted) which means many already have (some) immunity and the rest will gain it by catching and recovering and stop treating CV as if it's the only issue. So, a well respected and experienced (retired) virologist echoing what we have been saying.

Obviously there were some dementors on too but the tide is definitely turning.

Ibake · 21/09/2020 13:24

I've just signed up to YouGov. Overwhelming support for govt right now so thought I'd better start giving my two penn'orth if any of you fancy doing the same?

wanderings · 21/09/2020 13:52

@Ibake Can you post a link to the poll you're referring to? Is it about lockdown, or the government in general?

Did you hear the woman who suggested masks should be mandatory EVERYWHERE, and if you can't or won't wear one you should stay inside or get a fine of £1000? What about my neighbour who has health issues and can't wear a mask, is she supposed to stay in forever? I was shouting "fuck off you stupid cow" at the radio. I'll tell you one thing, my use of the word fuck and variations of it has increased proportionally to the number of idiots I've had to listen to and deal with. I'm worried my baby granddaughter's first word will be "fuckwit" !
RealityExistsInTheHumanMind · 21/09/2020 14:05

@Supermarketworker06

I tried to tune out most of the dementory stuff - I'm getting better at it - not usually before I have sworn loudly at the contributor though. Not good when I have my patio doors open and elderly neighbours are having coffee in their garden about 10 m away.

There was a time when I thought swearing was a sign of a lack of vocabulary - if it is, I'm back at preschool language level

Me too
LivinLaVidaLoki · 21/09/2020 14:15

@Ibake I forgot I had a yougov account, I was gobsmacked at the "who would you blame for a second wave of covid questions. How can people think that the public be more to blame than the govt???!!!!!!!

Ibake · 21/09/2020 14:16

@wanderings it doesn't seem to work like that - or if others know better pls point me in the right direction. It asks all sorts of questions on all sorts of stuff (lot of crap too!). I have answered a question about if I support another lockdown so I figure I'll just keep logging back in, ignoring questions about random pop stars and football clubs and home in on anything covid related. Sorry I can't be more help but have never done it before.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 21/09/2020 14:18

Can someone answer this for me.
From what I have heard (havent watched as Im at work) Whitty and Valance reckon there are 50k people infected in the UK at the minute....thats 0.75% of the population.

So why is everyone shitting their pants so fucking hard right now????!!!!!

Ibake · 21/09/2020 14:22

@LivinLaVidaLoki I know and what they did this morning was post a graph, which they were very quick to say was NOT a prediction (so why the fuck use it then you reprehensible cunts) but showed that infections could reach 50k/day.

All the MSM over the past 3 hours has gone from this MAY happen to this WILL happen.

Yep, you read that right. They put up a fictional graph and MSM now warning that's what's likely to happen unless action taken.
