What is the attraction to cauliflower?

I have tried it on occasion but its bland.
The last time I had cauliflower cheese was when I was a kid and promptly threw it back up. Cheese sauce is fine.
I've also discovered that Branston pickle has cauliflower in and so does piccalilli, obviously. Maybe thats why I dont like those particular pickles.

It's a bit like potato or celeriac or cassava, good mashed and bland enough to have with most flavours.

@HoldMyLobster that sounds yum. I went a bought 2 cauliflowers inspired by this thread. Later on I'm going to have a bowl of boiled cauli with a massive blob of real butter on it. DH is going to buffalo me the rest tomorrow. Yum
