Vic Reeves isn't actually Vic Reeves!

I've just started watching an old Celebrity Masterchef on Netflix which I hadn't seen and Vic Reeves was one of the celebs except they kept calling him Jim which made me very confused. Apparently his real name is Jim Moir. Am I alone in not knowing this?

Sat behind Jim on a flight, very unimpressed.

Englebert Humperdinck is really Arnold Dorsey.

What I find bonkers is that Engelbert Humperdinck changed his name to that from Gerry Dorsey...of all the names he could have picked!

I think most people in showbusiness have a name that isn't their real one. Apart from anything else, in Britain Equity doesn't allow you to register with the same name as someone else on their books, and presumably it's the same with the American actors' union. Also, it separates the public self from the private self. After all, John Wayne's real first name was Marion.

Michael Keaton is really called Michael Douglas.That name was obviously taken.

I wonder if Jim changed his name just so the catchphrase 'What's on the end of his stick, Vic?' would work.
