Unprecedented.
The new normal.

Shesingsshangrila · 19/07/2020 18:20

Now more than ever
Second wave

Soubriquet · 19/07/2020 18:21

Ugh. Yes

These are unprecedented time’s and we have to acknowledge the new normal with social distancing and family bubbles

Just gag me with a fucking spoon

The new normal.

It’s not fucking normal. This will not become the norm. The only people who want it to (and tend to use the phrase) are fucking deranged. I hear it a lot at work and I challenge it every time.

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 19/07/2020 18:26

“Our little bubble” (surely the new “our little family” - equally vomit-worthy)

PaperMonster · 19/07/2020 18:27

Everything everyone’s already said. I also find myself saying ‘the current situation’ and want to slap myself.

ParkheadParadise · 19/07/2020 18:33

Boris Johnson
Build Build Build (Everytime I see the above this comes out his mouth)
Covid
Second wave

Soubriquet · 19/07/2020 18:35

It’s just so annoying.

I mean I know the world is changing right now. I know it’s different and difficult but seriously I’m sick of those words

Even at work where it is impossible to get apart sometimes, we just hear someone yelling “social distancing!!” And I feel my teeth grind together

Just shut up you supergoon.

BlusteryShowers · 19/07/2020 18:42

"Now more than ever" sets my teeth on edge.

Celebrities needing to caveat everything they do with the adjective "socially distanced". I'm not even annoyed at them as such, more at the inevitable lockdown puritans who will spam them with abuse if they don't state it.

And not so much phrases. But the signage. The fucking signage EVERYWHERE. The arrows on the floor. The hazard tape. The rainbows.

I am so over it all.

PablosHoney · 19/07/2020 18:44

All of the above

MinesaPinot · 19/07/2020 18:46

New normal
Social distancing
Second wave
Socially distanced (walk, drink, meetup, whatever....)
Patrick Vallance
Chris Whitty
Matt Hancock
Boris Johnson

TicketToTheWrongFilm · 19/07/2020 18:47

All the above plus ‘vulnerable’, usually pronounced ‘vunnerable’.

I’ve also had more than enough of ‘staycation’.

And air fucking corridors can get to fuck.

Brexit. Everything to do with it makes me feel sick and angry.

TicketToTheWrongFilm · 19/07/2020 18:49

Oh also ‘the current climate’, although its use is understandable in the current climate.

Soubriquet · 19/07/2020 18:51

@midsomermurderess

I have anxiety.
This irritates me because my dh has clinical anxiety and actually gets completely frantic and panicked over things.

It’s heartbreaking to watch

A lot of people get anxious, but don’t have proper anxiety.

Elouera · 19/07/2020 18:53

'Recommend me ......'

Why can't you just say 'Can you recommend .......?' Angry

What is an air corridor

HarryBat · 19/07/2020 18:55

Stay safe

TicketToTheWrongFilm · 19/07/2020 18:56

@PablosHoney

What is an air corridor
Now that’s a fair question. I meant an air bridge Grin
