Noticing this more and more esp. on this site. Everyone tries to caveat before they are bashed, e.g. met up with a friend for a socially distanced chat / friend's kid plays up but doesn't have any SEN / friend won't meet up and is healthy. Also, if anyone raises an issue about finance or a school, they are bashed for not being poor enough or for supposedly hating every teacher that breathed! Caveats everywhere everywhere everywhere. People are walking on eggshells...yet are still bashed! Oh, and everyone who is an arsehole is labelled a narcissist, rather than just being an arsehole.

I've done a few "hope you are safe and well" emails To be fair, it is cringy.

Captain Tom. Yes he raised a load of money but that was because the NHS was put on a pedestal for a while, the media picked up on him and gave him tons over coverage, and many people got caught up in it, so all the planets were aligned for him to be hero worshipped. And now he's knighted FFS. Just OTT when you consider that many people can do long term amazing things that the media don't want to cover because they don't tick the right boxes, so the general public don't hear about them and get behind them. Sorry, just needed to get that off my chest.
