What weird things have you found yourself watching on Youtube?

I've somehow found myself addicted to watching old Corporate training videos, like McDonalds, Pizza Hut, various Supermarkets and Blockbusters. I think it's the combination of '90s nostalgia, laughing over how terrible they are, and getting to see some inside secrets.

What strange but addictive videos have you found on Youtube?

DS1 has got me watching Unnus Annus videos. Last week we watched them bake using sex toys as utensils Hmm

gothicsprout · 10/07/2020 21:30

Slightly niche sports - artistic synchronised cycling, rollerblade slalom dancing, speed bouldering

BlueLadybird · 10/07/2020 21:32

@LemonLapin the training videos sound great! Are you able to link to a good one? I love watching stuff on YouTube - less of a commitment than a TV programme.

I watch a lot of cleaning routines but turned out helpful when I found myself with a newborn in lockdown

LemonLapin · 10/07/2020 22:17

@BlueLadybird Good might be pushing it, but I'll link to some of the ones I've watched so far. There are dozens out there and I'm still working my way through them.

There's some truly magnificent '80s hair in this. Pizza Hut. Contains far more info about making pizzas than you ever cared to know, but the employee is so ridiculously cheerful that it's so bad it's good.

Blockbusters Part 1 and 2. This is a must watch. Weirdest one yet.

Another '80s supermarket video.

Wendy's Grill Skills. Very trippy but all the better for it.

And finally '90s McDonalds training video.

Blockbusters Part 2.

Sorry I'm having a lot of trouble with MN today.

‘Lamont at large’ Very personable American chap who posts videos of his walks around cemeteries in the US, with some of the stories of the deceased. Strangely compelling.

Zisforstripyoss · 10/07/2020 22:26

This is one of my favourites. Also all his other videos. Smells Like Teen Spirit is side crackingly hilarious.

Also my friend sent me this, which is gold.

CuteOrangeElephant · 10/07/2020 22:26

There's a fella whose name I forgot but he buys up job lots of broken electronic devices like Nintendo Switches and tries to fix them. It's oddly relaxing.

PeterPomegranate · 10/07/2020 22:28

My son went through a big vacuum cleaner phase and really enjoyed IBAISAIC videos (it beats as it sweeps as it cleans) - a vacuum cleaner fanatic but quite watchable.

Cam2020 · 10/07/2020 22:37

I quite like some of the absolutely mental conspiracy theories: Flat Earth, Paul Mcartney dying in the 60s and being replaced by someone who spoke, sang and looked, exactly like him. I once saw an absolutely batshit video about how Michelle Obama is 'in fact' really a man called Michael, mostly based on Obama mistakenly saying Michael during a speech once (slip of the tongue/glancing at notes). People are fascinating - can never quite decide whether they're just having a lIgh or they really believe these things.

DoTheNextRightThing · 10/07/2020 22:40

Oh my goodness OP, my partner loves those 90s training videos as well 😂 I think he’s watched every one on YouTube.

The other day I found myself watching a video about what would happen if time travel was real and someone used it to go back in time and kill Hitler before he took power... 🤔

Bobbiepin · 10/07/2020 22:40

Earwax removal. I love it. Has to be the mini forceps ones not the water.

Mine are boring in comparison! Women who live in campervans and travel the world, so envious. Also urban explorers breaking into disused amusement parks. Disney's River Country is my favourite

chubbyhotchoc · 10/07/2020 22:49

There's a woman called shera 7 that talks for hours about men and women's relationships. A lot of it is blather but I enjoy listening to her

Snap. Incredibly satisfying. Lots of videos on Instagram too.
Cocolapew · 10/07/2020 22:53

Not YouTube but Facebook, I'm obsessed with Brad Mondo hair videos, he comments on peoples hair dyeing efforts at home. Most people's are shit and their hair falls out but the lovely Brad isn't nasty and has very nice skin Grin.
I also like to watch things being cleaned with power washers, it's ridiculous soothing.

Bobbiepin · 10/07/2020 22:54

Any suggestions?

Bobbiepin · 10/07/2020 22:55

Whoops that was for @espressoontap

KetoWinnie · 10/07/2020 22:55

Prisoners escaping. Theresca whole 4 seasons of it. Breakout.

Comps83 · 10/07/2020 22:57

I got obsessed with the Thames Mudlarking videos
