grandson has his one hour of school this week, yep one hour. He is in a bubble of 3. Not a typo I said BUBBLE OF THREE!!! School only open in morning so teacher will teach a total of 9 children a morning for four days, Fridays no teaching.

IAintentDead · 28/06/2020 19:53

@ILoveTotoro

Hi everyone and thank you for the new thread

I have been freaking out this afternoon as I live in Leicestershire and I am desperately worried about the talk of a local lockdown

I swear if it happens I will not cope

I understand they are looking closely at postcodes and are hoping to tie it down quite locally. The smaller the area they have to lock down the easier it will be to police. If it's just a couple of roads, where people were mixing more than they should it could be quite easy.
NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 19:59

@rookiemere two of my utterly favouritist people in the whole world live in Scotland. I can wait to see them, I'd just rather not.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 28/06/2020 20:00

I’ll put the mars bars in the deep fat fryer if you’re all on your way.

But I’m not sure you’ll want to riot tonight, it’s cold, wet and windy. Next weekend is looking much nicer for some social unrest.

NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 20:00

I would hope if they can narrow it down that much, maybe just testing EVERYONE, door to door style might work?

NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 20:01

@InsaneInTheViralMembrane I lived in Erskine near Glasgow for a couple of years many moons ago, and tried one of those.

Even the seagulls didn't want the rest of it...

KaronAVyrus · 28/06/2020 20:01

This is so depressing. Who the fuck do the authorities think they are - stopping friends and family meeting up. How long is this bullshit going to go on for?
Is Sturgeon going to keep us in splendid isolation until there is a vaccine? How long is that going to take?

Dowser · 28/06/2020 20:01

@rookiemere
I’m sure someone will know the locals short cuts.
Don’t panic..yet
Think positive

My dad went dementor this evening, apparently 10 years 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Teateaandmoretea · 28/06/2020 20:05

Well as the saying goes ‘you can’t be too careful’ erm well yes you can actually.

KaronAVyrus · 28/06/2020 20:06

10 years! 😂 I’m not waiting that long to meet up with my sister and nieces. Fuck that shit.

NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 20:06

10 years? We'll all be dead from starvation if they want to keep it locked down until then.

rookiemere · 28/06/2020 20:07

Thanks Dowser, I had just about calmed down about getting over the border and was allowing myself to look forward to the holiday.

Hah - well I did say I was too cheery this morning, and now I'm paying the price. I forgot to take the washing in when I went out so DH helpfully tumble dried it thus melting the mattress protector as he generally does at too high a heat. I may have to have wine even though it's Sunday night - not going to Majorca now so don't need to fit into my swimsuits.

Teateaandmoretea · 28/06/2020 20:08

@KaronAVyrus maybe you could go to their weddings..?

@nothingiswrong just as long as we don’t sadly die from covid.

I have no fucking idea what he’s been reading.

rookiemere · 28/06/2020 20:09

I've started watching Downton Abbey the movie - even though I've seen it before - in the hope it will calm me down. Once DH comes in I'll see if he wants to watch another episode of The Durrells - that should help.

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 28/06/2020 20:12

I only took one day out and you're six pages into a new thread!

Well I'm very sorry but we've got a lot of people to sadly kill and they won't just kill themselves will they? It's only 24 hour, non-stop anti-dementoring that gets you results.

But you carry on with your 'taking a day off' and let the rest of us carry the burden. I hope at the very least you were at the beach killing a few people there.

Wink Grin

NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 20:12

I'm going to Sadly Die my fucking husband if he doesn't stop dementing at me.

No one would convict, of that I am certain.

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 28/06/2020 20:14

Probably something to do with the fact that poor ds2 has confided in his brother that he doesn't think he has any friends.

Oh no, poor thing. I felt like that at school and luckily I have lots of friends as an adult (I swear I was scared I never would). But it's such a horrible feeling when you're only small.

NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 20:14

Oh, and I'd booked a proper lovely weekend away for us to London next summer for our 10th wedding anniversary. Loads of hotels doing fee free cancellation at the moment so I thought I'd take advantage.

Oh no. Our friends who were getting married this August have moved it. To the exact date of our anniversary. So I'm going to waste a rare babysitting child free night on my 10th wedding anniversary on someone else's wedding.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 28/06/2020 20:16

I’m glad at least that a figure of 10 years is out there - presumably that’s originated from somewhere. Let them all chew on that a few weeks and see where we are.

Which channel is the downtown movie on? Asking for a friend...

rookiemere · 28/06/2020 20:18

Insane it's on Sky Premiere.

Nihiloxica · 28/06/2020 20:48

Hi, everyone.

Please nobody leave.

I'm so tired and bored.

I just can't be arsed with anything.

IAintentDead · 28/06/2020 20:49

Urgghhh

I heard a loud bang earlier and realised a bird had flown into a window AGAIN, they're big windows and it happens fairly regularly. I've just looked out and there's a dead pigeon out there. They don't normally hit it THAT hard.

Do I put it in the bin or hope a fox eats it?

Going to need to put on some thick gardening gloves 😱😱😱

Drivingdownthe101 · 28/06/2020 20:50

Yes definitely no leaving. No need for anyone to leave. We are the AD’s and we stick together.

Bored and tired too. About to go in the chavvy sex pond.

MaudesMum · 28/06/2020 20:50

I'm really really sorry, but I had a bloody lovely weekend. Murdered millions. Drove for about 4 hours to see sister in law and nephews to celebrate one nephew's significant birthday. We would have been in the garden most of the time - there was a gazebo and a barbecue and so on - but it pissed with rain (north west), so we all ended up indoors. Gangs of teenagers, adults popping in and out, cocktails, dancing, food. When I woke up this morning there were at least 6 extra teenagers asleep in the sitting room. And in the morning, we popped round to a neighbour's house to admire her garden and have a cup of coffee - in her kitchen, even though she was 70+. Hugged sister in law twice and several nephews.

I did feel a bit twitchy at first, being in a room with so many people after so long and found myself nipping upstairs a couple of times to apply hand sanitiser (lots of shared food). But it was great to see 18-20 year olds having fun, and to just feel "normal" again.

In case I've bought The Virus (Northern Variety) back to my West Country town, I'll be a little more careful than usual (which is pretty careful generally) about getting near to people for the next week or so.

I also want to apologise to all caravan owners everywhere, but the M5/M6 without a caravan on it was a glorious thing and made my drive a lot quicker.
