I'm really really sorry, but I had a bloody lovely weekend. Murdered millions. Drove for about 4 hours to see sister in law and nephews to celebrate one nephew's significant birthday. We would have been in the garden most of the time - there was a gazebo and a barbecue and so on - but it pissed with rain (north west), so we all ended up indoors. Gangs of teenagers, adults popping in and out, cocktails, dancing, food. When I woke up this morning there were at least 6 extra teenagers asleep in the sitting room. And in the morning, we popped round to a neighbour's house to admire her garden and have a cup of coffee - in her kitchen, even though she was 70+. Hugged sister in law twice and several nephews.
I did feel a bit twitchy at first, being in a room with so many people after so long and found myself nipping upstairs a couple of times to apply hand sanitiser (lots of shared food). But it was great to see 18-20 year olds having fun, and to just feel "normal" again.
In case I've bought The Virus (Northern Variety) back to my West Country town, I'll be a little more careful than usual (which is pretty careful generally) about getting near to people for the next week or so.
I also want to apologise to all caravan owners everywhere, but the M5/M6 without a caravan on it was a glorious thing and made my drive a lot quicker.
