Do you have hobbies? If so, can I ask what?

Lockdown has been a real eye opener for me. I see all these busy bees cracking on with their hobbies - all lockdown did for me was show me that actually I have a very boring life 😳

I had friends who were baking, making blinds, arranging photographs, and gardening.

Apart from reading and my dogs, I don't have anything else. I'm not sure what I would actually do with myself in retirement or with no job.

So, if you have any hobbies, can I ask what they are. Looking for inspiration 😇

Reading & running are my main 2. Also do a bit of baking sometimes.

No way will I still be running in retirement Grin

BarbedBloom · 17/06/2020 19:21

Reading, photography, gardening, drawing, painting and gaming. I swim normally when all the pools aren't closed. Pilates. I am also writing a book.

I like running, reading and gardening. Would like to do sewing but don’t have time.

covidmonkey · 17/06/2020 19:31

Bootcamp which luckily started again.

yamadori · 17/06/2020 19:31

I grow bonsai trees.

Goostacean · 17/06/2020 19:31

I try to read a bit of a history book, or something similarly educational or cultural, on my kindle at bedtime- I find the lack of screen time before bed helps my sleep. I’ve recently bought a cross-stitch kit, which I’m enjoying a lot! Also, Mumsnet. Grin

Reading, playing Sims, crochet, diamond painting, and lately drinking and watching too much telly.

Cruddles · 17/06/2020 19:40

Homebrewing, which I've been doing for a number of years. But since lockdown supplies are short as every Tom, Dick and Harry has decided to do it too

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/06/2020 19:40

Knitting, crochet, reading and embroidery - specifically blackwork embroidery.

Horseriding and running. In lockdown I have been reading and gardening more.

EventRider1 · 17/06/2020 19:41

Horse riding - mostly eventing (as you can probably tell from the username!)

DeadButDelicious · 17/06/2020 19:41

I crochet, knit, cross stitch and make wire wrapped jewellery. I also like to read and the odd bit of baking.

NerrSnerr · 17/06/2020 19:42

Sewing, knitting, geocaching and Yoga (but I prefer physical classes- not remote)

TheMandalorian · 17/06/2020 19:44

Reading, running, mtbiking, embroidery, gardening.
Thinking of joining a choir. Painting.

Mainly making cards. Vegetable gardening then I make chutney with the produce later in the year. I also dabble in sewing and I also have a dolls house and other miniature buildings. I don't know if you'd call it a hobby, an interest or a necessity but I frequently cuddle my cat.

TroysMammy · 17/06/2020 19:47

I have done cross stitch in the past but my eyes aren't up to it these days.

SpeedofaSloth · 17/06/2020 19:48

Sewing, knitting, crochet.

jasjas1973 · 17/06/2020 19:49

I like baking and cycling, me and my partner love planning (and doing) long bike rides either here or abroad.

Cycling is something i plan on doing long into retirement, especially as modern electric pedal assist bikes make cycling far more accessible (if you have the money) :(

MuchTooTired · 17/06/2020 19:50

During lockdown I’ve discovered a fondness for gardening and baking. I crochet when I have time, but I’m very slow at it!

nonicknameseemsavailable · 17/06/2020 19:50

hmm well I love craft stuff but majorly struggle with motivation and time (mind the time might be the excuse for the lack of motivation as I am sure I could make the time if I tried harder). So sewing, paper crafts, card making etc. I would LOVE to paint but am somewhat artistically challenged. Photography has always looked interesting as has jewellery making.
