Where would it be and what would you have?
No worries about Lockdown and social distancing, or budget!
I would go to Miller and Carter and have the biggest steak I could buy, although would also be tempted with a KFC too...

I would go to my favourite tapas place in Cala Blanca in menorca

VodselForDinner · 06/06/2020 13:41

My lovely local Italian. I feel really at home there because I’ve been going for years and know all the staff, the food is lovely, it’s cozy and romantic and I just really miss their olives.

Plus, it’s local and independent I want to support local businesses as much as possible. I always made a point of it, but feel that’s even more important now.

Can I pretend I’m not pregnant? I’d be off to sushi samba to use up the voucher we got given in October. It’ll cover a lot of wine and sashimi but I found out I was pregnant a week before we were meant to go. It’s my ‘post covid post birth’ thing to look forward to...

Dollywilde · 06/06/2020 13:46

@insancerre funny, we’ve been to Cala Blanca a couple of times. Fond memories of drinking too much sangria on the bar at the top of the cliffs! I could definitely get behind some patatas bravas in the sunshine right now...

Chicchicchicchiclana · 06/06/2020 13:46

Tbh I would choose the local pizza place I usually go to with my 2 best girlfriends. I miss them so much! Not so bothered about food as I seem to have spent most of lockdown eating Hmm.

MrsR87 · 06/06/2020 13:47

Oooh tricky one! Either Salt In Stratford upon Avon or the Kitchin in Leith. Some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had that I would really struggle to recreate at home!

If I had to stay local, it would be my local bistrot that does an awesome surf and turf!

Millie2013 · 06/06/2020 13:49

Our local little Thai place- tempura vegetables with sweet chilli dip, Thai green veg curry and coconut pancakes with ice cream 😍

CathyorClaire · 06/06/2020 13:49

Zizzi.

I have gift vouchers getting ever closer to expiry Angry

AnnieCartwright · 06/06/2020 13:50

Also Miller and Carter for us. Can't wait!

NeutralJanet · 06/06/2020 13:50

An Indian restaurant, for some reason Indian always tastes better in the restaurant than as a takeaway. I think it's all the little extras you get like the carousel thing of different dips for your poppadoms.

TSSDNCOP · 06/06/2020 13:52

Aha! I'm going to need to get the next Eurostar from Ebbsfleet to be in Paris in time for my reservation at Alcazar.

DDiva · 06/06/2020 13:52

A local country pub, would probably have a chicken pie.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 06/06/2020 13:52

Dolphins in Kefalonia

Ninkanink · 06/06/2020 13:52

My favourite Italian pizzeria for one of their huge pizzas.

My favourite Spanish steak house for one of their incredible t bones with all the sides.

My favourite Chinese place for their weeknight special which is very tasty and incredible value.

An excellent seafood restaurant for everything on the menu.

My favourite Thai for their starter platter, a soup and a their fantastic red curry.

One of the local curry houses that does really interesting and unusual dishes from various regions in India.

Our local burger place (they also do an amazing peri peri chicken).

KFC.

Turkish Kebab shop.

Wish we had Korean and Japanese nearby.

Can’t choose, must have them all.

Pinkyyy · 06/06/2020 13:55

San Carlo for me 😍

acocadochocolate · 06/06/2020 13:59

Local coffee shop. The owner is so creative.and makes delicious lunches, which are different every day. His coffee is superb and the homemade cakes are to die for. Hmmmmm......

caringcarer · 06/06/2020 14:06

Our local Italian. My dh took me there for first date so it is special to us. We know the owner well and the food is to die for. I wish they were taking bookings again or even takeaway.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/06/2020 14:06

Local Indian. However, I have been pleasantly surprised at the amount of money I have saved during the lockdown and intend on eating out far less in the future.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 06/06/2020 14:07

We had a table booked at Le Gavroche for my April birthday, that was obviously cancelled then reschduled to early July. We've just had a call to cancel that booking too. We can rebook for late July. Thinking about pushing to September/October time to give us something to look forward to/chances to be less worried about gettnig the train to London.

I bloody love Michel Roux Jr, I've eaten at Le Gavroche before and it was soooo good. I was so looking forward to it. Sad

PawPawNoodle · 06/06/2020 14:11

Hawksmoor - we had booked for my birthday next week (as is the tradition) to pig out on steak and wine but it's not happening, I'm gutted!

MissCalamity · 06/06/2020 14:11

Local Italian, their garlic bread & mozzarella is to die for, plus the Chicken Valdostana which is Chicken with tomato based sauce, with mozzarella & ham with roasties and veg, washed down by a bottle of rose.
God knows when this will happen as they have the smallest restaurant ever, social distancing would not be possible. 😒
