Where would it be and what would you have?
No worries about Lockdown and social distancing, or budget!
I would go to Miller and Carter and have the biggest steak I could buy, although would also be tempted with a KFC too...

The Trident in Sausalito.

That's the last time we were all together as 3 generations (and the children paid the bill!)

IHaveBrilloHair · 06/06/2020 14:14

Tasting menu at The Kitchin in Edinburgh.

Lardlizard · 06/06/2020 14:17

The cliff in Barbados

HGC2 · 06/06/2020 14:22

Any place that anyone other than me would cook, also if they decide what we’re all having too that would be great!

Feel like all I’ve done is plan family meals for months now!

ChocolatelyAsFuck · 06/06/2020 14:24

Dishoom, this one little place on the beach in Amalfi that I swear put Heinz tomato soup in their sauce but it was still delicious, David Bann in Edinburgh, Cookies Cream in Berlin, Champs in Brooklyn, Chelsea Market in NYC, or Honest Burger just for the rosemary fries.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 06/06/2020 14:24

Good call @lardlizard. I'd go with Champers in Barbados 😎

MrsR87 · 06/06/2020 15:34

@DisgruntledGuineaPig

We had a table booked at Le Gavroche for my April birthday, that was obviously cancelled then reschduled to early July. We've just had a call to cancel that booking too. We can rebook for late July. Thinking about pushing to September/October time to give us something to look forward to/chances to be less worried about gettnig the train to London.

I bloody love Michel Roux Jr, I've eaten at Le Gavroche before and it was soooo good. I was so looking forward to it. Sad

I’d be gutted. That’s next on my to visit list!

The Giggling Squid

Disregarding distance, practically, etc it would be a toss-up between my favorite taco truck in SFO and my favorite barbecue place in India,

Binge watched Trevor Noah last night and been craving tacos ever since.

Laiste · 06/06/2020 15:58

Oooooooooooh The Pytchley Inn, West Haddon, Northants.

It's a country pub. It's not £££.

Starter - their BIG jar of pate with the fat seal on top, loads of toast and lemon and salad all on a big board.

Main - one of their mahoosive steaks with chips. (and salad) They leave the fat on the edge of their steaks and crisp it up It's the Best. Chips - god know what they do to them but i've dined in some very posh places and no one does chips like the chef at this place. They're like chips from actual heaven.

Pudding - no ta. I will now waddle to the car thank you Grin

okiedokieme · 06/06/2020 16:36

Salt in Stratford upon Avon or maybe tapas actually, quite in the food for it. That said doing steak frites tonight, French bistro style, who needs a cafe

Fuckityfucksake · 06/06/2020 17:07

Any on the Calis beach promenade would do me.
Hopefully we're allowed in August 2021 after cancelling for this August Sad Sad

Allflightscancelled · 06/06/2020 17:09

Poco Pizza in Lyme Regis. Best pizzas this side of Italy and a great playlist too. Actually I'm feeling a bit wistful, now Sad

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/06/2020 17:10

@PolPotNoodle we went to the Hawksmoor for breakfast last time we were in London. Oh, my God it was amazing!

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/06/2020 17:12

Cardiff:

Milkwood
Antonio's pizzeria
Casa Nova
Potted Pig
Grange (pub)

I know we're only meant to choose one, but I'm special Grin

SuperPixie247 · 06/06/2020 17:13

Fazenda!

Lilybet1980 · 06/06/2020 17:19

Omg @nomorefencepostsplease I love that place. Lots of fond memories of getting the ferry back to the city feeling slightly sloshed.

Waterside Inn for me.

Howmuchlongercanthislast · 06/06/2020 17:32

J Sheekey

the just our local pub- more about the drinks and company than the food

PumpkinParent · 06/06/2020 17:37

Barge East near the Olympic Park in East London

Is brilliant and can’t wait for it to reopen so we can go

thebearwentoverthebumble · 06/06/2020 17:39

There is a wonderful restaurant a few towns from me called the fig tree. It's a fine dining restaurant so a bit pricey, I've been twice for special occasions and I'd love to go again. It's delicious!

Greenteandchives · 06/06/2020 17:40

Pasture in Bristol for a steak. And I will go as soon as possible after it reopens.

Roominmyhouse · 06/06/2020 17:42

Bodeans for a Jacobs ladder beef rib or maybe a boss hog platter to share.

Bargainhuntbore · 06/06/2020 17:43

Local 17th century pub. Fire lit, wine, lasagne with chips snd salad and the girls around me.

MuthaClucker · 06/06/2020 17:46

I won't name it, but a very good steak restaurant close to us.

Fillet steak, with Yorkshire blue cheese sauce and truffled chips, followed by burnt honey pannacotta.

And best of all it's in walking distance so both of us can imbibe lots of wine and a cocktail or too whilst we're there.

Imissmoominmama · 06/06/2020 17:49

Riso in Funchal. I’d have risotto with parrotfish, and chilled, dry rosé, as I looked out over the water at sunset.
