So here’s part 2 (which is crazy to me)

There isn’t really an update as such I should hear today or tomorrow regarding a scan. I’ve got the MW again on Thursday and I suppose this week will be the week of grand reveals.

I’m sorry if I disappear for a day at a time I’m still trying to wrap my own head around this.

Hello and congratulations, I had a very similar situation to you. I had no periods, was on a massive weight lose regime, told it was very very unlikely I would get pregnant after trying all the usual interventions except IVF.

Weight loss stopped, and I started to get a pain at to of abdomen. Stomach looked swollen. I got examined by two doctors (twice) who both said it was likely to be a bowel blockage and anything I was feeling was that.

Finally I was in tears at 4th doc appointment and she agreed to a CT scan. But it was late in the day and she said I had to have a pregnancy test as I was female but it would be negative but I had to do it. Went home did test later on it was positive....

Got another at 10pm it was positive. Shit. No sleep that night. Went to fix first thing and doc from previous night was on way out to house calls. I screamed (yes whoops) it was positive. She stopped, stared and then organised an appointment with the other doc (who had seen me twice).

Went to him, he examined me and said well you won't be far gone and booked me an emergency ultrasound. Went up to hospital and I had the scan I was 30 weeks and 3 days. I went into shock for two weeks and I really don't remember any of it.

I had a very tiny baby at 37 weeks due to hellp syndrome, caused by (we think) stress of that and other things going on. She is now a very healthy 4yr old.

So please dm me is you would like, is not identical to you but I really understand the shock. If you need to find someone to advocate for you and just take some time to get your head around this. All the best. Rat

It’s good you found out now, rather than just giving birth! 😯

Good luck with everything, what a shock.

Lazydaisydaydream · 01/06/2020 09:31

@Ratbagratty I can't believe so many doctors examined you and didn't realise Shock I guess it shows how easy it is to miss it! Glad to hear your daughter is OK. Flowers

Jeremyironsnothing · 01/06/2020 09:37

Will you want to find out the sex at the scan?

Amazing. I know a woman who had a baby without knowing she was pregnant. She was really athletic and muscular and she just didn’t show at all. She went into labour at her boyfriend’s aunts house party 🙈 that was a shocker! Wee girl is four now and she’s a lovely wee thing.

Weezy511 · 01/06/2020 09:47

I’m so glad you keep updating your threads OP! Must be such a shock but so exciting too!

Lyndassniff · 01/06/2020 10:03

Congratulations. I hope everything goes well for you and your family.

I know that everyone has the right to choose their own name on here, but is it OK if I call you Oshey. It seems friendlier, and you deserve all the positivity we can give you as you approach the lovely but sometimes exhausting challenges ahead.

Addler · 01/06/2020 10:07

Good luck with everything this week.

onalongsabbatical · 01/06/2020 10:09

If we're not careful we'll get to the end of this thread before OP's even had the scan!
Best of luck with everything that's happening this week OP. Thinking of you. You are handling this AMAZINGLY! My younger daughter's pregnant with her first at the moment, but that was all planned and everything. What with worrying about her and thinking about you I'm all distracted - and the woodpigeons nesting outside my window now have 2 visible babies! It's all a bit spring-like!

Wow, read the first thread and I’m not going to lie thought it would be taken down the next time I came on!

Huge congrats OP, hope the scan goes ok

Congratulations, op! What an amazing story to tell little one when they're older!

ladycarlotta · 01/06/2020 10:18

Thinking of you, OP. This really does go to show that this sort of thing really can happen - there are so many 'how could you not know?!' type threads so it's actually really good to see the other side of it. Good luck and how exciting.

FourPlasticRings · 01/06/2020 10:19

Hope you have a great week, OP.
