Ingredients
240g/2cups plain flour
100g/ 0.5 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp salt
330ml/ 1.3 cup milk
120g/Generous 0.5 cup peanut butter
180g/1 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Method
Preheat oven to 160c/325f/gas mark 3
Mix together dry ingredients.
Mix in the milk, then the peanut butter. Stir chocolate through. Scrape into greased loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour.

Best eaten warm and with coffee. Otherwise if you were extra generous with the PB might feel all a bit dry.
Warm or cold, out jam on it 😋

P.s. use the chocolate chips!

Oh wow! This sounds amazing. Do you use crunchy or smooth?

dudsville · 30/05/2020 13:41

This sounds amazing - I'm saving it for once I'm over my diet!

Plump82 · 30/05/2020 13:42

I think a mashed banana through that would take it to another level!

Made it. It’s ok. Needs to be sweeter I think. Rose very high and weighs the same as a small car.

MumpsimusMaximus · 30/05/2020 15:44

Didn’t have chic chips which might have improved things.

Elieza · 30/05/2020 16:03

Stomach rumbling. Sounds delish 😋

Plump82 · 30/05/2020 16:15

I think I'll give it a go once the bananas I have in are a little riper.

Did you try it with jam? (then you don't need the extra sugar)

Oh, and i'd recommend weighing the ingredients, rather than using cups, especially the flour

I think some of your measurements are off.
1/2 cup sugar is 100 g, not 50.

MumpsimusMaximus · 30/05/2020 17:20

I weighed rather than using cups. Maybe that’s why it wasn’t sweet enough.

00100001 · 30/05/2020 17:38

oh, sorry! I'll double check! Blush

It's probably because it should be 100g sugar .... !

I made it!

Use gluten-free flour so I added some xanthan gum. The chocolate chips totally make it. It’s a bit like banana bread. I haven’t had it with jam yet, but about an inch of butter on top while it was warm was lush.

Disclaimer: used up the ends of two jars of peanut butter; one of the jars was peanut butter with Marmite… 🤣

LaneBoy · 30/05/2020 21:44

I really shouldn’t have looked at this thread.

I am absolutely shit at baking but I may have to try this! Chocolate chips compulsory not optional, though :o

Placemarking. Going to make it tomorrow. Cake
