Ingredients
240g/2cups plain flour
100g/ 0.5 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp salt
330ml/ 1.3 cup milk
120g/Generous 0.5 cup peanut butter
180g/1 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Method
Preheat oven to 160c/325f/gas mark 3
Mix together dry ingredients.
Mix in the milk, then the peanut butter. Stir chocolate through. Scrape into greased loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour.

Best eaten warm and with coffee. Otherwise if you were extra generous with the PB might feel all a bit dry.
Warm or cold, out jam on it 😋

P.s. use the chocolate chips!

do you warm the PB up before adding? Mine is VERY solid. Can't see it mixing in very well.

00100001 · 30/05/2020 22:32

...no idea... Grin

God, it's gonna be awkward when you talk try it with jam and come running back here to tell me that it was RUINED 😂😂

Sounds lovely OP

If no chic chips you can also break up choc bar into bits. I do this with banana bread & use the Aldi Moser Roth 70% - delish! I also add chopped nuts to banana bread so this peanut butter bread could be very similar. Mmmm.

I don't, but it shouldn't harm it if you need to buzz it for a few mins or warm it in a pan before mixing it in.

My peanut butter was a bit solid with the result that when I was mixing it, it was climbing up the beaters to start with, making it necessary to lift them out from time to time so they could flung themselves free. It mixed in fine in the end though.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 30/05/2020 23:36

It sounds lovely and I will definitely give it a go next week BUT can we talk about peanut butter with marmite!?

LividLaugh... What were you thinkin'?

00100001 · 31/05/2020 08:03

Peanut butter and Marmite is delicious.

The Marmite Peanut butter is good.

But if you do them separately, Marmite on toast, the PB on top. It's top notch 👌

It just added a salty deliciousness 🤷‍♀️

My PB was runny and still climbed the beaters. I might have had to wash the mixer in a way that is likely to have killed it.

Still not tried with jam, but this morning had a slice with NUTELLA while waiting for my bacon to fry. That’s the way I roll.

00100001 · 31/05/2020 09:13

How was it with the Nutella?

bluefoxmug · 31/05/2020 09:14

would this work with oat milk?

00100001 · 31/05/2020 09:15

Can't see why not 😊

@LilyMumsnet
Thank you for correcting the sugar amount (twice Blush)

Should the mixture be dry once the milk is in?

It’s gone like breadcrumbs

LunaNorth · 31/05/2020 11:56

Forget it, I read the recipe as 1/3 of a cup of milk Blush

Shannith · 31/05/2020 12:04

I'm definitely going to try this.

And I think h are right about the jam. For reason I'd always considered the American peanut butter and jelly sandwiches weird.

Then I made some bread and had half a loaf left after us inhaled it with butter and sea salt.

Opened the cupboards and spotted half a jar of peanut butter and nearly a whole one of jam lurking.

Thought why not?

Half a loaf later, two empty jars.

Obviously I was just doing my bit for using up cupboard stuff.

It was epic.

MarchSurprise · 31/05/2020 12:13

I don't have choc chips, should I try it now and make again when I get some. Or will I be disappointed, should I wait?

00100001 · 31/05/2020 12:35

Oooh, how about half a recipe now? Then full chocolate chips recipe when you realise ITS DELICIOUS.

Right, I’m giving it a go.
If it tastes delicious I’m going to cry. I’ve had my ‘nice thing’ for today so my household had better not snarf it all!!
I’m currently using DietBet to shift a few 3 stone pounds and it’s recipes like this that are my downfall 😳

doctorboo · 31/05/2020 12:51

@00100001 Do the ts of baking powder have to be level or heaped?

LunaNorth · 31/05/2020 13:09

Mine’s just come out of the oven. It smells divine, but I need gf so I won’t be having any. I made it for vegan DS 😇

LividLaughLovely · 01/06/2020 00:48

@LunaNorth. I used gf flour (and a bit of xanthan gum but only cos I have it in)

PorpentiaScamander · 01/06/2020 00:53

This sounds amazing. I hope I have some peanut butter. Probably not thanks to ds2s love for pbj sandwiches
