How tall are your children if you and your dh are tall?

Me and dh are both tall. I'm 5ft 9, dh is about 6ft 2. Currently pregnant with our first but both have children from previously relationships to relatively short people. My dd has managed to be the tallest in the class despite her dad being short. So I'm wondering if the mix of me and dh is going to produce something resembling a giant. Can I ask how tall are your children if you and your partner are tall?

DH is 6ft6, I'm 5ft6. DS, just turned 12, is 5ft5 and due a growth spurt. Dd, 9, is a little taller than most of her peers but not much.

Thank you to everyone who posted! So interesting and you've all made me feel excited to see how my new baby turns out!

I'm 5'9, dh is 6'3. Ds is 14 on Wednesday, and is currently 6'1. He is predicted to be 6'5 - the tallest of his cousins (where mum and dad are the same height as us) is 6'8

I am 5 11 and my ex is 5 10.

17 DS is 6 4
16 DS 5 9
13 DTD are average for there age.

A giant??? How rude!!

I’m 5’11 - you’re small in comparison!! I love being Amazonian, not bad at sport, can carry weight better than small people, clothes generally look good and my legs are ridiculously long.

Don’t give your children the same hang ups you had OP.

Honeybee85 · 18/05/2020 14:04

I'm 5'9 and DH is 5'11 (maybe he is not very tall for our standards but he is East Asian so very tall for his country).
DS is nearly 1 years old and already wears size 86 clothes. Today he wore a size 90 trousers and it fit him very well because his legs are quite long. His pediatrician says he is very tall for his age.

Justonedayatatime11 · 18/05/2020 14:37

I'm 5.7", as is DDs dad. DD is 6 and already up to my chest!

Tiramisuiloveyou · 18/05/2020 16:38

Agree @AgnesNaismith

this is very interesting.
I have a group of relatives (siblings) who grew up in post war germany.
2 were sent to 'feeding camp' as pre teens and the other were not (slightly older).
the 'feeding camp' ones are head & shoulders above the others hight wise. the children of this sibling group range from average to tall.

motherrunner · 18/05/2020 16:56

I am 5 ft 7, DH 6 ft 2.

DD (8) is the shortest in her class and shorter than girls in the year below 😆 Her height prediction at the 2 year check is 5ft as an adult. She was premature so don’t know if that has an impact or whether she is just destined to be teeny!

DS (5) is the same height as an average 7 year old. He obviously took DD’s height!

ComeOnGordon · 18/05/2020 17:40

@HarrietTheShy tbh I would never go with a man shorter than me so when I was younger and on a night out I was only ever attracted to the tall men. They’re also easy to spot Grin I’m divorced now and not yet interested in dating but would still only date a man taller than me

WitchQueenofDarkness · 18/05/2020 17:44

I'm 5' 9" and DP is about 5' 11"

DS is 6' 6" and DD is 5' 11"

sageandroses · 18/05/2020 18:02

I'm the child in the scenario but:

Dad 6 ft 1
Mum 6ft 1

Me 5 ft 11
Sister 6 ft
