Inspired by another thread - and being a Sociologist (after a fashion..) -
thought I'd start this thread.

I was taking the piss out of this thread.

Might be better to ask for a list of towns where work is actually available tbh rather than inviting people to sneer at unemployed residents of post industrial shyte holes even if that was not your intention.

Merthyr Tydfil represent. Sneer all you want, working class people don't care.

Because (warming to theme) there seems to be some confusion these days about what 'working class' means.....

@StoorieHoose not aimed at anyone in particular, just the comments generally criticising the thread....I can see their point, but I live in one of these "working class" areas...to call the thread goady or snobbish is to imply that there's some kind of shame in where I live and I don't agree. There's nothing wrong with living in a poor area and no point in pretending it isn't.

It's not about there being something wrong with living in a working class area. I live in a working class area bit wouldn't say I'm working class. Not that my background matters. But there is no getting away from the fact that people think working class areas are worse than middle class areas.

Sorry if I've inadvertently offended anyone - didn't mean to.

I myself have lived in very different areas demographically. I have lived in a block of flats that is in one of the most deprived postcodes in the UK. I can remember more than once getting in my car to go to work and there being about 6 police officers trying to force their way into the flats' communal entrance - think 'The Bill' - for those of us who fit the 'heavy ITV viewing' demographic

So according to someone on the this thread all the towns mentioned are crapholes because they are WC?

Except MN having quite a MC demographic where threads are posted about large, expensive house and salaries that are invariably way above the national average, asking for lists of working class towns seems to being poor taste and 'lets sneer at the poor people living in their poor towns.'
