Time travel is permissible here.
My choices are the Talking Heads doing Stop Making Sense, Elvis in his Vegas days, Michael Jackson (obviously before we knew he was a wrong' un so maybe the Thriller days), Johnny Cash in San Quentin, Beyonce doing Glastonbury. Possibly also the Rolling Stones in say 1972?

Oh blimey The Clash too. Basically I wasted my youth - I should have spent far more time going to gigs.

Any Winehouse. There are others that I'd have loved to have seen but was too young. I could have seen Amy but just didn't.

Elvis

WaterIsWide · 04/05/2020 20:18

Annie Lennox

Amy Winehouse

Prince (Could have seen him in Auckland but couldn't afford the tickets/logistics of travelling 500kms from where we were living.)

Queen with Freddie Mercury, could have gone to a free gig in London in 1985 but couldn't be bothered then.

HowDoI I saw the Ramones about 4 times, including their last UK date. They were fantastic every time and the gigs are brilliant, happy memories.

I never saw them with Dee Dee, though I saw him solo.

augustusglupe · 04/05/2020 23:38

DH and me were talking about this, this weekend.

For DH....Queen
Me...Japan. Had tickets to see them at the De Montfort Hall in 1982. I fell out with the friend I was going with, so ended up giving my ticket away. I didn’t give it much thought at the time, but I’ve often thought since, why didn’t I just tag along with someone else!? God knows! They disbanded a year or two later and never reformed.

BelindaBallsover · 04/05/2020 23:39

The Smiths

Floralnomad · 04/05/2020 23:42

Wham is probably the only one for me , I’ve seen everybody else that I wanted to I think . I did see George Michael a few times on his own fortunately.

Hedgesfullofbirds · 04/05/2020 23:52

Yes to the Clash!
Siouxsie & The Banshees
The Ruts
Lene Lovitch
Millie Jackson
Bob Marley
Uroy
Grogory Isaacs
Many others I can think of, but these in particular

Hedgesfullofbirds · 04/05/2020 23:53

Gregory Isaacs, that should read!

Starksforthewin · 04/05/2020 23:59

I love live music gigs and have seen every one of my heroes.

Bowie. (39 times, from Ziggy to Reality tours. Travelled all over Europe and saw him in venues ranging from intimate to stadium. His voice got better with age and there has never been such a charismatic performer).

Prince(two or three times. So talented, multi instrumentalist, great dancer, and sex on a stick!)

Led Zeppelin. (My parents wouldn’t let me go in my teens but I finally saw them at the O2 reunion concert. Up there with the top ten life experiences for me)

George Michael ( saw him once with Wham, couldn’t hear the music for the screaming. Saw him six or seven times solo, including the last Symphonica tour. Pitch perfect. No better pop vocal. Loved him).

I think Joni Mitchell is the ‘one that got away’ for me. Love her voice and musicianship. I don’t think she will ever play live again as she has been so unwell.

Saw Kate Bush in the 70s and again at the Hammersmith Odeon residency a few years back. She is so creative.

Can’t think of anyone I am aching to see now. Just as well in the time of Covid!
