We just had burgers delivered from a guy who hand makes them, down to the brioche bun and delivers them and it was frigging awesome. Probably literally murdered myself by ordering from a guy who works solo in his kitchen and does contactless delivery - but what a way to go!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 05/05/2020 19:53

@Drivingdownthe101 don't mention planes, it's a sore point at the moment! We decided we needed something to look forward to and decided to book a trip to Florida for September next year. We booked to fly with Virgin from Gatwick. I think we'll need to change our plans...

I obviously realise that the people are far worse off than me but we had to cancel a holiday at the last minute a year ago, it rained every day when we went away in September last year and we've obviously had to cancel this year's holiday so I'm feeling jinxed!

MagdaS · 05/05/2020 19:55

Pink yes me too. I’ve known many of them for over 15 years. One of them is my sounding board for pretty much everything, not just work stuff. Impossible to properly talk to someone about serious issues over Teams. It’s missing something.

It’s also difficult to properly manage people with kids listening in - one wanted to discuss sensitive medical issues with me, but not in front of children. We’ve ended up putting Teams on so we can see each other and WhatsApping.

Tappering · 05/05/2020 20:01

Managing at a distance is difficult. I'm responsible for 10 people. Trying to find the time to check in with them collectively and individually as well as have enough time to do my own job, is proving to be really difficult. Quick catch-ups that would happen ad-hoc during the office, take so much longer when done remotely.

Mascotte · 05/05/2020 20:02

Check out the news about the Government's chief lockdown adviser, Neil Ferguson... 😂😂

HavartitoMeetYou · 05/05/2020 20:03

I love cooking, but God I just want to buy something cheap and disgusting from Greggs.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 05/05/2020 20:06

Check out the news about the Government's chief lockdown adviser, Neil Ferguson... 😂😂

I just checked. Holy shit, what an absolute hypocrite!

Guess its not so dangerous after all then Neil eh? 😆

Mascotte · 05/05/2020 20:07

It's just so brilliant 😂😂

Mascotte · 05/05/2020 20:08

You couldn't make this up

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 05/05/2020 20:09

I'm shocked by the amount of government "professionals" lecturing us about staying away from people and how DANGEROUS it is and we should all LOCK OURSELVES AWAY whilst they swan about wherever they damn please.

Sorry but if he's going to do what he wants then why shouldn't we?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 05/05/2020 20:11

Omg Mascotte.
Ferguson said ''I acted in the belief that I was immune, having tested positive for coronavirus, and completely isolated myself for almost two weeks after developing symptoms.'

I thought we kept getting told there was no guarantee of immunity.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 05/05/2020 20:12

HE was the one who said herd immunity wasnt safe and if we didnt all lock ourselves away we would be responsible for the deaths of 500,000 people.

Yet he lets his married lover come and visit him for a shag!

O.M.G.

Mascotte · 05/05/2020 20:14

It shows what a pile of shite it all is. According to he dementors he is a mass murderer by ignoring his own advice to prevent DEATH!!!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 05/05/2020 20:16

AIBU to think this has probably been deliberately leaked by Dominic and his friends as now Ferguson's dementorist predictions about eg Sweden are being clearly falsified, it is becoming expedient to discredit him?
Plus, I bet he really loves the sound of his own voice in SAGE Zoom meetings.

Mikki2019 · 05/05/2020 20:17

Whaaaaatttt

Absolute hypocritical fucker

Mascotte · 05/05/2020 20:18

Quite likely.. and they're needing to get people back to work soon. I think it shows the shallowness and lack of science of the whole doom thing.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 05/05/2020 20:19

He was full of Demenshittery.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 05/05/2020 20:19

This is just unbelievable

Honestly- how dare he tell us to lockdown when he isnt himself

I hope his reputation is forever ruined

DominaShantotto · 05/05/2020 20:20

I love cooking, but God I just want to buy something cheap and disgusting from Greggs.

I've been compensating by a dodgy baked sausage roll and costa vending machine job from the local Morrissons petrol station on the way back from walking the dog.

It's a shit compensation - I only really go in as I want to see how their carefully constructed social distancing shield of a wall of beer multipacks is holding up against corona drinking.

Orangeblossom78 · 05/05/2020 20:20

He was the Mad Cow disease man wasn't he? Who did the predictions which brought about the change in plan to lockdown. Hmm

PickAChew · 05/05/2020 20:21

Look at all the lovely bluebells I contaminated by stopping to take a photograph, this morning.

Dementors can dement but we'll keep it positive here
Mascotte · 05/05/2020 20:22

I know this makes me a bad person but I've been feeling so awful and this has really cheered me up.

OutwardBound2016 · 05/05/2020 20:22

Bet Boris is fuming!

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 05/05/2020 20:23

My job is WFH and it's currently all Covid stuff, all day. I do love getting told I CAN'T POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE OUT THERE from people whose only experience is that their mum's friend's neighbour's is "on the front lines

Working my way through the thread and this jumped out at me as it is exactly my experience! It's driving me insane (I'm not coping well with lockdown), especially as they then argue with me when I tell them what the real, situation is in our area. Hint: we have no cases now and out hospitals are empty but desperately trying tomget back to normal.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 05/05/2020 20:23

@mascotte

Me too. I'm livid at him for dementoring the government and being the one responsible for this shit show yet I am also cackling that this just shows, if an epidemiologist isnt that bothered by the covid risk, then why should we?
