What to eat with cheesy mash?

Not had cheesy mash since childhood and have a sudden craving, mum just used to serve it on its own but obviously I feel I need to upgrade it slightly.

Growing up we used to have cheese and potato pie which was basically just cheesy mash baked with cheese and breadcrumbs on top (sometimes with spring onions in the mash or tomatoes on top) served with beans. One of my favourite comfort foods.

Have now developed a longing for bubble and squeek and am wondering about cheesy bubble and squeek. Is that a thing?! Mmmmmm

Try some sliced cooked sausages in a dish, cover with caramelized onions, sliced fresh tomatoes and cover with cheesy mash, with a bit of Dijon mustard in, with extra cheese on top. Bake till bubbling. Delish.

In the 70's, my DM called it cheese and potato pie and it was served with tinned spaghetti.

We're having cheesy mask tonight with beef link sausages - dh's request. Sometimes do bacon and other times sliced square sausage. Sometimes just a huge plate of cheesy mash. I will often do cheesy mash for sausages I've slow cooked with onions and make onion gravy but dh just wants sausages tonight.

Mmmmm I love cheesy mash. My mum used to make it a lot too. We just had it with veg mixed in, usually peas and carrots. Was yummy 🤤

I don't like to have it too often as I want it to still remind me of being a kid when I have it.
