Is there anyone else on here that likes to smoke weed?

On all the threads I've seen that have mention cannabis it usually made out like the worse thing ever.

I'm a bit of a stoner tbh and just wondered if there is any others out there? I always see threads with people sharing what they drinking so thought I'd give it a go!

Not sure how this will go on here soo 🤞

Just realised when people were saying they vape it they mean dry vaping, does that smell as much as smoking?

n00bMaster69 · 19/04/2020 22:01

Charras! Yes, that was it! Beautiful stuff.

Thank you so much Slurpy, I was beginning to think I'd imagined it.

n00bMaster69 · 19/04/2020 22:10

What's 'Bubble'? I've never heard of it.

Has anyone watched Breaking habits? It's about a group of self ordained nuns who help their community via cannabis. It's an enjoyable watch.

GlummyMcGlummerson · 19/04/2020 22:59

Sorry, my experience has been that "stoners" become at best pretty boring and at worst mentally ill..

This.

Same with people on coke - sooo boring to talk to!

TheClitterati · 20/04/2020 09:03

I'm on a "break". Wish I wasn't but the virus has interfered sadly.

I'm also a fully functioning taxpayer 😆🥕

TheUser420 · 20/04/2020 09:27

Was it Bubble hash a PP was asking about? It's made from a specific part of the living plant,

That's Charas

Bubble Hash is made by mixing the harvested plant in iced water to cause the trichomes to fall off so they can be pressed into hashish. There are guides online ...

People openly sell it on Instagram through the post, no idea how they get away with it.

@whatnow40 I can really say from personal experience, giving up drinking altogether really helped me with pain management. It got rid of the bad moods, tiredness, lightheadness and hangovers that just amplify the pain to unbearable levels.

If you are going to use cannabis, Id use some low content (cheaper 'low quality') and make it into butter , but use in small amounts, so its just a feeling in the background and will stay there for a good amount of time.

Id always test weed first by smoking first though so you don't suddenly find yourself on a death trip.

user1471565182 · 20/04/2020 12:41

You could also look into Kratom, which is legal and available online in the UK and is used to treat pain and as an alternative to weed.

user1471565182 · 20/04/2020 12:44

Kratom is a tremendous source of alkaloids, including: 7-hydoxymitragine, mitraphylline and mitragynine. These alkaloids stimulate opioid receptors in the brain, providing comfortable, soothing and relaxing sensations. Kratom is an energy booster, high in antioxidants and a healthy alternative to caffeine. We provide our customers with piece of mind, knowing they are receiving only the very best selections of kratom powder and leaves. We continue in our life long quest to bring you new and exciting 100% organic products and strains from virgin jungle regions.
Kratom Effects
Reference studies show that kratom is unique. In small doses the effects tend to be energetic and larger doses more relaxing. Some of the most popular uses are pain management, anxiety, depression and addiction to pain killers or other opiates.

NC to post on this thread ...

I was a full time stoner from about 18-25 when I got pregnant. Stopped for a bit. Then returned to it. Then stopped when I got pregnant again and stopped for well over 2 years.

Lock down has returned me to stoner life. But I don't smoke that much, not like I used to. Just a little j of an evening, in the shed. Grin

I was never a big drinker, but when I stopped I definitely started drinking more.

I don't think I'd have started smoking again if it wasn't for lockdown. Probably the worst time to start smoking again! But I've always loved a j ...

I wish you all lived in my street! Anyone have any idea why it is normally such a male dominated arena?

Iwalkinmyclothing · 20/04/2020 15:15

@user1471565182 Why do kratom sellers think it is legal in the UK? How do they think it is not covered by the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016?

TheUser420 · 20/04/2020 15:38

If folk are doing it correctly, they may well live on your street. Given by the simple economics of growshops, it's much more widespread than people imagine (or let on).

Not so sure about it being male dominated ... it could just be one of those things ? But I've seen families in grow shops, which was pretty much the defining moment of realising that prohibition has failed so utterly that to continue is immoral.

That said, a lot of banter is online, where it's less clear cut and unless a poster specifically (and honestly Smile) reveals their biology, it's impossible to tell.

How do they think it is not covered by the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016?

Ah, yes. The legislation which had to admit that alcohol, tobacco and caffeine are psychoactive substances, and thus highlight the absurdity of prohibition. Mind you, compared to the car crash of more recent legislation it looks positively perfect.

user1471565182 · 20/04/2020 15:52

The Psychoactive Substances Act was a joke. So many things also arnt chemical compounds, Kratom included.

seekingwaxwings · 20/04/2020 15:53

Happy 420 my bud buddies Grin

Amusingly enough, incense isn't excluded despite being a shoe-in for a "psychoactive substance". Rather than fix the law, the government had to "promise" Christian churches they would stop any attempted prosecution were it to happen. Yet another example of the mental gymnastics needed to wake up one day and say "you know what ? Banning things arbitrarily really seems to work. We should do more of it ...."

CatBatCat · 20/04/2020 16:34

@seekingwaxwings Its been 420 all month. Grin

Slurpy · 20/04/2020 16:35

Happy 420 friends!! And sorry to those without at the moment.
Had some new bits arrive for the vape today, so looking forward to chilling out once DH finishes work.
Also, I'm loving the way that the occasional MNetter pops by to say we're all boring, wrong and tedious and then is totally ignored. Keep it up folks!

MrsWeebles · 20/04/2020 17:03

Fortunately (for me) I live in Canada where it is legal for recreational use. I toke a bit most days, I rarely get really high but it chills me out as I have high levels of anxiety. I have ALWAYS held down responsible jobs in various government departments, pay my bills on time, have decent savings and have raised a son who is a fine, hardworking wonderful human being raising a family of his own. Having gown up surrounded by alcoholics I would much prefer to see someone have a toke (and perhaps eat the contents of my fridge then have a nap on my sofa) than I would to see someone get drunk and likely end up being aggressive and obnoxious. In my experience booze is a far more dangerous drug than weed or hash. I am nearly 63 years old and have been toking since I was 13.

Frompcat · 20/04/2020 17:04

I don't because I have a young son but boy I would love one right now.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 20/04/2020 17:53

It is stupid legislation, and it amused me that they had to specify exceptions such as coffee and tobacco. That said, I still want to know how anyone can claim Kratom isn't covered by it?

In my world we wouldn't ban any substances at all, but unfortunately I am not (yet) Supreme Leader and thus we remain subject to stupid laws :(

thejollygargler · 20/04/2020 18:11

@iwalkinmyclothing

When is the election? Count me in!

The usual MN frothing about drug use on here always makes me laugh.

I have lived in several places where cannabis is legal. It is no more a gateway to hard drugs than Harveys Bristol Cream is a gateway to meths drinking.

Lebranic · 20/04/2020 18:16

Great thread! I am also a member of reddit uktrees, but that seems to be full of very young boys.
I have run out at present, have got 4 contacts who I am gently nudging...
My husband does is not into it, but he doesn't mind if I have a late night spliff. He doesn't even notice most of the time.
Agree wholeheartedly with an earlier poster who said it is excellent for focusing the mind on a task. I find it very hard to concentrate on a mundane task like cleaeing out cupboards or motivate myself to clean without it.

peppermintcapsules · 20/04/2020 18:22

I agree, MrWeebles. My husband is American and before he came here he lived in a state where it was mostly de-criminalised and is now totally legal. Much prefer pot and hash to alcohol myself.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 20/04/2020 18:26

Alcohol is the great gateway I think, every time I tried a new thing it was usually after drinking.

I kept failing c25k, usually in week 4 or 5. Someone suggested I have a very light smoke half an hour or so before I went, said it would be a game changer. I thought they were mad but then I googled and quite a lot of people say cannabis is very helpful when they run, so I tried it and OH MY GOODNESS but it was true. I bloody completed c25k! Me! Other benefits for me are aiding sleep, preventing restless legs and enhancing sex. I am a big, big fan of responsible cannabis use :)
