Stoners

Is there anyone else on here that likes to smoke weed?

On all the threads I've seen that have mention cannabis it usually made out like the worse thing ever.

I'm a bit of a stoner tbh and just wondered if there is any others out there? I always see threads with people sharing what they drinking so thought I'd give it a go!

Not sure how this will go on here soo 🤞

Id go for Hash/Resin Spoon bender. Or best of all pollen. Not much around these days (it used to be the only thing you get could) cos all da kidz are smoking horrific genetically modified mutant skunk with stupid names.

If you have any way of finding out the plant type, indica produces sedatives effects whilst sativa is the more stimulating horrible stuff.

In places where its legal a lot of strains are designed with this in mind for people who get anxious on it. Or buy some indica seeds online (for research and novelty purposes)

user1471565182 · 21/04/2020 22:09

Theres loads of strains designed for guerrilla growing now as well

Unless you really are in the arse end of nowhere, guerilla grows are problematic ... you need to find somewhere that you can be pretty certain nobody is going to go near under any circumstances. If you're planting seedlings, you can be fairly confident they'll grow to maturity, but you can't be sure they won't get pollinated ... I wouldn't imagine there are many places that could be guaranteed pollen free.

It's a shame, as it's a great plant for fixing soil - saves needing fertiliser.

user1471565182 · 22/04/2020 10:33

from what I gather people put clear bags over them to stop pollination, no idea if that works.

Well as a device for attracting attention it's one below setting up some wind chimes overhead Smile

I know there is a thriving guerilla grow scene in the UK, but it's a little bit too boys own really, and not really a solution if you're housebound.

user1471565182 · 22/04/2020 10:41

Yeah its for teenagers really. One in somebodies house isn't going to get them prison time or anything.

Supposedly the seed factory near me had an issue with waste seeds outside growing, some of them turned into massive female cannabis plants. This is in freezing east Yorkshire.

TheUser420 · 22/04/2020 10:48

Highlighting how prohibition manages to achieve almost (but not quite) the exact opposite of what it is claimed to do.

Teenagers really should steer clear of nicotine, caffeine, alcohol and cannabis - they're all psychoactive and affect the mind. (I guess you could also throw in theobromine for lolz - teenagers without chocolate eh ?).

For all the mild tutting on this thread, it was alcohol abuse that the news highlighted that had led to a terrible increase in domestic violence. Remember alcohol - which is not only legal, but taxed. Which leads to a very unpleasant chain of money from the abuser to the state ...

Lemonnhoney · 22/04/2020 11:05

@jimmyjab I use less weed than I would do in a joint. Just grind up or pick a smallish bud to fill the vape

Burpalot · 23/04/2020 14:47

How are you all hiding the smell from neighbours?

Burpalot · 23/04/2020 14:52

(genuine question, after some tips)

Onefliesoverthecuckoosnest · 23/04/2020 14:53

Oh I love this thread and I am so jealous! My partner is totally anti (pretended not to be when we got together) and I am not going to risk our relationship over it but it does annoy me because she drinks a fair amount and is fine about me drinking. It isn't really a legality issue for her because when I've smoked it in countries it is legal, she still isn't happy. But it suits me far more than alcohol.

thejollygargler · 23/04/2020 14:54

@Burpalot

We don't have any neighbours Grin

Burpalot · 23/04/2020 15:03

Jealous! I live in a small block and have very conservative neighbours

bullyingadvice2017 · 23/04/2020 15:05

Ohh I have found my people.

Not got time to read full thread now but I will be back.
Dedicated smoker here, no tobacco just ze green loveliness. Drink does nothing for me. Wine and lager knock me sick with the smell.
Hope we don't get taken over by the people who can laugh about wine o'clock but think we are on crack. They keep popping up on threads about where would we get it from... well when I knew lockdown was coming I stockpiled a couple of extra ounce to keep me going.
I have been enjoying it very much. A whole month of 420 indeed! Been renovating my garden, lots of planting and painting. Loving not having to set a alarm and spending lots of time with my animals.

GinDrinker00 · 23/04/2020 15:07

Haven’t read the thread but hello. 👋 I smoke it daily for pain relief.

Ylfa · 23/04/2020 15:12

👋

There are some houses near us but the closest is definitely 420 friendly - the others I don’t know so well, but we have a fire outside almost every evening (unless there’s a breeze, it’s very dry at the moment) either in the fire pit or the chiminea. That might disguise the smell?

TheUser420 · 23/04/2020 15:13

How are you all hiding the smell from neighbours?

Of growing ? Carbon filters and a decent extraction setup.

Of smoking ? Depends on your situation ... being a stoner is not an excuse for being a twat, in the same way not being a stoner is not proof of not being a twat either and neighbourly consideration should be a concern. But vaping is one way to reduce or eliminate the smell.

Last night, we went outside and were greeted with the delightful and quite unmistakeable whiff of muck spreading. Which considering the nearest farm is a good 2 miles away seems a good enough squirrel to throw into the thread Grin

thequeenbeyondthewall · 23/04/2020 15:34

@lemonhoney

So if I got a vape (not an e cig) but where you don't need tobacco, I could then use the weed I'd smoked in the vape for edibles?

Really stupid question but I am asking anyway....
So when you put the weed in the vape, how do you know when it's time to put new weed in?

Banterlope · 23/04/2020 15:44

@thequeenbeyondthewall

My vape (a Da Vinici IQ) has a little oven/chamber. It auto switches off after 10 minutes, so that's how you can tell when it's done. If you don't fill the chamber completely you can tell when it's done as there is no more effect/vape to exhale

TheUser420 · 23/04/2020 15:48

So if I got a vape (not an e cig) but where you don't need tobacco, I could then use the weed I'd smoked in the vape for edibles?

Best way to make edibles is to gently heat some butter and steep the bud/hash/ground bud in it for a few minutes and then pour off the liquid through a filter, and use the butter in a recipe. (Hence why cakes, cookies and brownies are so common).

Speaking of gentle, I'd gently suggest that MN probably isn't the best place to try and learn, when there's a whole internet out there, and plenty of sites in the US that openly discuss such things. Although I would counsel that in some respects, the US seems a few years behind the UK in regards to techniques and kit. (Which does rather suggest the UKs permanent "we are winning the war on drugs" is a load of cobblers ... the UKs underground cannabis scene is probably the most advanced in the world Grin)

A word to the wise .. edibles are nothing like inhaled cannabis. The pharmacology is completely different. Because you don't get the fierce heat of incineration, you have a much more complex mix of THC deltas. Also because it takes time to get into the bloodstream (at least an hour, I'd say) you really need to resist the temptation to say "That didn't work, I'd better have another" after 5 minutes.

Since this thread started, there will be people in the UK who have died as a result of alcohol or tobacco use, for people who like context for their risks. In normal times I could have added "in RTAs too", but these aren't normal times. (And in a nod to some posters here ...). But they are High Times Grin

thequeenbeyondthewall · 23/04/2020 15:57

I've been making my own for about a year now.

I don't smoke at all.

Just wondered if there was a better process and if there was something more economical Grin

TheUser420 · 23/04/2020 16:10

Nothing is as economical as growing your own. Quite aside from knowing exactly what you are getting, you can experiment with different strains, growing techniques, and - arguably most crucially - harvest when it suits your situation. A lot of commercial cannabis (that isn't adulterated with fuck knows what) is obviously grown for profit, so harvested as soon as possible. Whereas if you grow your own, you can harvest later, which completely changes the various ratios of THC/CBD and affect the sort of high you get.

Plus, if you grow your own, you can delve into the wonderful world of breeding, and become suspiciously well versed in plant genetics, F1 traits and identifying stable strains. Expertise that could bag you a job in certain places in the US ...

lobsterkiller · 23/04/2020 16:35

Burpalot. I smoke a bowl, just a pinch in a glass pipe. It's best described as a one hitter. i blow it into a folded up towel. it's not perfect but does minimise the smell and I blast the room with air freshener. I cant smell it from outside.

Littleyellowbowl · 23/04/2020 16:36

I vape it too, as does my boyfriend. We both have kids. Once they're in bed, we'll have a vape to relax. Not everyday, it relaxes me and helps me sleep. Do miss a proper joint though.
