Stoners

Is there anyone else on here that likes to smoke weed?

On all the threads I've seen that have mention cannabis it usually made out like the worse thing ever.

I'm a bit of a stoner tbh and just wondered if there is any others out there? I always see threads with people sharing what they drinking so thought I'd give it a go!

Not sure how this will go on here soo 🤞

personally i like a hallucinogenic.

It's a shame that research into the way LSD seems to "cure" alcoholism and schizophrenia won't ever be properly researched.

seekingwaxwings · 21/04/2020 17:05

@CatBatCat 'it's been 420 all month' Grin it certainly has for me!

I wish it was legalised and controlled, and I could choose the strain depending on how I want to feel...and I would love sit in the kinds of cafes they have in Barcelona and Amsterdam, with pool tables and music and soft seating and people to watch; as I'm disabled I can't really do anything but sit at home when I'm stoned which seems such a waste! I'd love to stay at a weed ranch in Colorado with amazing scenery to look at.

I think it's criminal that more research isn't being done on psychedelics- I've seen studies that point to them being really helpful for people with dementia, with serious depression, and with the terminally ill where it has helped them lose their fear of death.

I'd try all sorts if it was legal and regulated and I was in safe surroundings! I'd love to try mdma but I'm just too scared to take a gamble on what I might get.

Gottobefree · 21/04/2020 17:11

I very rarely smoke it these days, only in a social setting. But my relative makes AMAZING edible sweets that taste like chewits and just give me a very peaceful evening and best sleep I've ever had!

For festivals or concerts I prefer something a bit stronger. Most of my friends; marketing advisors, social workers and teachers have the occasional spliff ! it's so much better for chronic illnesses (I have had for 24 years) so would rather have some weed over alcohol !

Carpathian2 · 21/04/2020 17:37

I'm 56 and I've smoked one a night since I was 16! ( obviously not when I was pregnant). It just finishes off the day for me and I've got a huge garden that I can hide in without bothering anyone.
I really prefer it to a glass of wine at the end of the day. I don't drink anyway.

Charliescar · 21/04/2020 17:41

I am glad you are coping well with being stoners . Cannabis has destroyed my relationship with my 20 year old son 😨 he no longer speaks to me . He has given up on life , let himself go , doesn’t wash etc. He was a promising student prediction good a level grades etc , then drugs took him over .

byebyebeautiful · 21/04/2020 17:44

I've just found the world of edibles and what a revelation! Have been a regular smoker for years and years but it's time to give tobacco the heave ho.

Has anyone watched cooked with cannabis on netflix?

TheUser420 · 21/04/2020 17:47

I think it's criminal that more research isn't being done on psychedelics- I've seen studies that point to them being really helpful for people with dementia, with serious depression, and with the terminally ill where it has helped them lose their fear of death.

From what I've gleaned, there's a suggestion that psychedelics have some sort of interference effect on the brain which triggers a (natural, inbuilt ?) "reset" mechanism that can help with certain psychological conditions. What piques my interest is the suggestion that the effect is permanent. Just a single LSD trip can "cure" alcoholics.

All in need of proper peer-reviewed research, so it can be really misunderstood for political gain.

A similar thing with cannabis. From personal observation, the analgesic effects of cannabis seem to kick in before the psychoactive effects. Which means a bit of careful titrating (sadly back to smoking) means you can relieve pain without getting stoned.

All of which being said, as an article I might try to dig up asked: What's so bad about getting stoned ?. Which is a fair question when you look at the list of side-effects that doctors are allowed to foist onto patients with "approved drugs" ... which some people then take cannabis to relieve. Chemo in particular is brutal.

You are aren't cool, you are bottom feeders supporting a chain of absolute misery

No, you.

Also, how do you know where I get mine from hmm?

TheUser420 · 21/04/2020 17:51

Google county lines.

My advice would be to google "grow your own" so you can dump the dealer

And have a word with yourselves about what you are supporting.

Well if you're growing your own, presumably, yourself ?

If anyone is bored and fancy something to read then 'The persuit of oblivion: a globe history of narcotics' is a great, very interesting an informative book.

Infamy · 21/04/2020 17:54

@TheSparklyPussycat do tell!!

peppermintcapsules · 21/04/2020 17:56

All the more reason to legalise cannabis and regulate it and tax it the way tobacco and alcohol are, because it's not going anywhere. My h used to grow his own (he lived in a state where it was largely decriminalised and is now legal) so there were no gangs he was funding Hmm. People have actually moved to this state to obtain cannabis for conditions like lupus and epilepsy and have been able to come off other drugs that had far more serious side effects.

Lots of people cannot regulate themselves on alcohol and wreck their lives by it and even take out other lives, too, but you don't see any moves to criminalise alcohol the way you do with cannabis.

n00bMaster69 · 21/04/2020 17:58

Please ignore my spag mistakes.

Does anyone have recommendations for cookbooks? There seem to be many (even WH Smith's seticks them!), I'd want a simple one.

n00bMaster69 · 21/04/2020 17:59

Seticks?! Stocks*!

seekingwaxwings · 21/04/2020 18:58

Baked tv watching recommendation; earth's tropical islands on iplayer. Mind blowing nature documentaries. Also It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Netflix. Did I already say that? Soo funny.

lotusbell · 21/04/2020 19:06

The last time I did it was in my early 20s and after smoking a bong with my now exh and his family (in laws included), I started to panic that my stoned state was irreversible and that I would be permanently stoned. Then I saw my eyeballs get up and walk away 🤣 and that was enough for me. Never did it again. Always been too scared of being out of control to do other drugs.

Lemonnhoney · 21/04/2020 19:46

@TheUser420 never knew that grinding it changed it in that way.. Might try that.

Does anyone know anyone or themselves part of a club/collective? I know of teesside cannabis club which seem to be doing some cool stuff.. Grouping together to grow it collectively so can have a supply of nice stuff that is obviously away from the street and problems that have been highlighted.

No one wants to be causing harm to young people or anyone else by enjoying weed! But the problem is the prohibition of it which is causing that!!

Id love to join a collective or something but its hard to seek out who's into it.. Imagine a women's cannabis collective which grew and supplied it!

@jimmyjab.. We live in rented too so can't do it here.. Planning on growing some outdoor though in a secluded allotment.

When our estate agent came for a property inspection he actually said a few times 'just have to check you aren't growing any canabbis ha ha' I was like yes ConfusedHmm not sure if he was just trying to be funny or really accusing me lol.

The vape sounds good! I have the version of that up! Happy vaping!!

Lemonnhoney · 21/04/2020 19:52

@Slurpy hey. We make butter then edibles with our vaped stuff.. Rarely make it tbh but we never use fresh stuff for edibles and it works! Some batches have been v strong! As like has been mentioned the vape decarbs it so its good to go!

I'd love a mild one. I've never been a stoner...

Never had it's regularly but certainly every now and then really enjoyed one.

Janaih · 21/04/2020 20:05

I've not toked for 20 years but this lockdown has got me craving a joint!

Lonelycrab · 21/04/2020 20:18

Agree completely, if things were taxed and regulated (it’s not rocket science) the benefits would be huge. Strength and quality could be controlled.

TheSparklyPussycat · 21/04/2020 20:50

Infamy well cured green. No idea of the strain. I have a theory that some like being stoned, and some like getting stoned. I'm the latter, so tend to have a few weak ones, rather than one strong one.

jimmyjab · 21/04/2020 21:58

@lemonnhoney one of my landlords once said that too! I can't wait to buy my own house so I can have a go at growing. An allotment sounds great!

Vape comes tomorrow, I'm excited! Does vaping it mean you use more weed? In j's I'm filling it up with bacci so not using loads.
