What would you tell me?

I had a conference call today, there was one person from each department of the large company I work for. To break the ice the senior manager asked everyone to introduce themself and give one interesting fact about themself. I despise things like that, I'm quite shy and just completely froze when it got to me and ended up introducing myself followed by 'I'm insanely shy and find things like this painful' luckily the host laughed!

So what would you say?

I once worked at Manchester museum in the Egyptology dept (student volunteer). I was clearing out the stores when a sealed jar containing an offering of oily perfume, which I was moving, cracked open in my hands.

The smell was amazing. I was so blown away to think I was the first person to smell that scent for 2/3000 years. Well, super cool IMHO!

(No one cared by the way- there were hundreds in storage which would never see the light of day)

I was involved in an accident in which 9 of my colleagues were killed.
I have made a presentation to the Queen, which featured on Songs of Praise, from which I learned there is a choir in the audience!
More mundanely, I can wiggle my ears.

My interesting fact is that I eloped abroad at age 18 to marry a man I had met on holiday!

I've cheated death twice.

My name appears as a contributor in the front of a well read book. My contribution was typing the entire book as a student.

My aunt is a very well known model, in real life only very very close friends know that fact.

There is no other person in the UK with my first name. Was 1 other, but she must no longer be alive.

It smelled amazing, strong/pungent, heady, as I imagine frankincense to smell- medicinal almost!

I raised a baby bat down my bra and I've written three prize winning novels.

I think these are quite interesting facts, but people tend to be more interested in the bat thing, than the novel thing, which slightly upsets me.

I'm v impressed by the novels, wow. Can you tell us maybe one of the prizes you won?

I've played with Alexander Johnson and his three younger siblings as a youngster. (Aka our prime minister)

I answered this on a job interview last year. It was a group interview and each person had to stand at the front of the room and address the 12 people sat in front of them. after listening to various interesting tales about lots of tattoos, piercing ,knowing famous people and one had a link to the royal family, I got up and said,
"There is literally nothing interesting about me or my life, which is an interesting fact in itself, therefore creating an interesting fact black hole and paradox."
Which made the whole room laugh for some reason.... I was serious tho.

That's cool Zaphods! I'd love to have creative flair like that.
