What would you tell me?

I had a conference call today, there was one person from each department of the large company I work for. To break the ice the senior manager asked everyone to introduce themself and give one interesting fact about themself. I despise things like that, I'm quite shy and just completely froze when it got to me and ended up introducing myself followed by 'I'm insanely shy and find things like this painful' luckily the host laughed!

So what would you say?

I had a character in a bafta award winning drama based on me.

I wrote a post on a forum about (the murdering/lying) Oscar Pistorious that a) went viral, b) was used with my permission in a South African newspaper, c) was brought to the attention of the prosecuting team and d) was referenced frequently on a series of MN threads about the case of which I was a part, even though I never told my fellow posters I was the author responsible.

Years later - I am still proud. And aware that that’s a bit sad & pathetic.

I had a row with a famous magician when he tried to schmooze my friend and I while we were scouting a restaurant for my hen night, while his wife was entertaining their guests!

I've been mugged by a seagull. Twice!

I have a mark on my back that looks like 666, the mark of the beast. Probably not one for a work meeting.

I nearly drowned when I was 2yo... when I was 35yo I found out about a cousin who had drowned at 18m. Nobody had ever talked about it.

I’m married to a spy

A Saudi Arabian Prince was once utterly mesmerised by my apparent likeness to a very famous Bollywood actress (whose name I sadly do not recall). I was there for work and when I left our meeting, he waved me off with tears in his eyes and said he felt like he had met her.

Weird.

Crikey I'd struggle. Well, I can do shorthand. Was trained in Pitman Script. The only other person I know who can do this is my twin sister.

I wrote and self published a (mostly comedic) book of poems in the late 90s

I've played poker at national competition level.

I played in a successful competing brass band for 17 years up to a solo seat and regularly played solos in front of audiences of hundreds of people.

(Since I moved area 10 years ago no one really knows that about me, my husband has never seen me play although he knows about it and I'm also incredibly introverted and shy so it isn't something that anyone would think I was capable of doing!)

I appeared on a tv ad most of last year.

I've had 2 lengthy marriages while under 40 yrs old (still happily in the second one)
