It's the 1980's and the telly's on. What are you watching?

I thought I might watch Dallas, perhaps that new Brookside and maybe Robin of Sherwood.
I might even open up a bottle of libfraumilch or mix a pernod and black. I've got one of those new remote controls attached to the telly too.
Anyone want a seat on the sofa?

Angels, in the early 80’s.

Any music show, especially The Tube. it’s hard to think you had to wait to see videos. Quite often bands or singers were on chat shows which was great.

We were rationed though in our house so you had to choose your moments, my mum wasn’t keen on tv watching!

Ah yes capital city, that was brill. Not sure if 80's or 90's but there was a factory drama (or two) which were good.

I'm in California.
I'm either obsessively waiting for Save A Prayer by Duran Duran to come on MTV or I'm watching Three's Company.

OMG - Chorlton and the Wheelies!! That witch was terrifying when her eyes went all red!!

Does anyone remember ‘Tales of the Golden Monkey”? It had a pilot who looked a bit like Indiana Jones and he flew around some sort of jungly area having adventures!

wonderrotunda · 25/03/2020 09:13

Ooo Pernod and black! Yes please!
I was, and still am, in love with Benton Fraser and recently bought a dvd of Due South to relive those contented Saturdays
Just realised it was the 90’s...oops! Too much Pernod....

Hurricane10 · 25/03/2020 09:18

Swingoutsistersledge - I remember Murphy's mob, theme tune was sung by the guy who played Wayne? in Auf Wiedersehn Pet.

There was another Scottish teen thing called Maggie that had Mr Bronson from Grange Hill in it. Theme tune to that was by BA Robertson, remember him?

CoraPirbright - I loved Tales of the Gold Monkey, I think the character was called Jake.

Has anyone mentioned Robin of Sherwood? Michael Praed when he had hair. Mmmmmmmm!
