Currently in isolation 14 days with poorly DS. Going crazy on day 2. Let me know your favourite soothing classical music.

Can't cope with chart music, MTV, old pop, or anything with words at the moment.

I've got amazon music and am currently listening to a soothing collection called music for a relaxing bath 🤷🏻‍♀️

They are lovely but I need a playlist. Lark ascending is there, cavalliera rusticana and similar.

Any more?

Search for Max Richter.
His music is beautiful especially the nature of daylight.

Seventyone72seventy3 · 17/03/2020 19:47

There is a mumsnet compilation on spotify if you have it.

Foghead · 17/03/2020 19:47

Einaudi.

goldpartyhat · 17/03/2020 19:49

No Spotify. Brain is scrambled. Don't want to add more media stuff. Alexa is playing so nicely at the moment, but she can never tell me what a particular piece of music is. When she finishes this I'll try that Richter thing 😊

Max Richter is stunning (his Vivaldi 4 seasons is my favourite)

I’m really into Us The Duo right now. Classical versions of popular songs

TillyTheTiger · 17/03/2020 19:53

Ludovico Einaudi. Lovely as background music.

Whatevah · 17/03/2020 19:54

Carnival of the Animals The Swan by Saint-Saens.
The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams
Classic FM do 'Smooth classics at 7' which is relaxing classical music at 7pm mon-fri.

goldpartyhat · 17/03/2020 19:55

She's shuffling songs by Max richter! Nice. The first one is on the 'music to have a bath to'!

Tune into radio 3. Lovely at any time of day or night, you don't need to move the dial or load a playlist and they only seem to read the briefest of news headlines when they remember to, which is much less frequently than every hour. They also talk as well, but only to enhance/get you to think about what you're listening to so you hear human voices but nothing stressful.

Hope your ds is better soon.

Beethoven's Symphony no. 6 (Pastoral). My first musical love and stll hard to beat. 😊🎶

iklboo · 17/03/2020 20:48

Baroque music. Seriously. Both relaxing and uplifting. I love it.

Twospaniels · 17/03/2020 20:52

Thanks for this.
I love classical music but never know what things are called, or what to listen to.
I often listen to classic fm in the car
Going to give some of these a try

goldpartyhat · 17/03/2020 20:52

Haha Alexa recognised my crap pronunciation of ludovicia einaudi! It's also on the 'relaxing music to have a bath to'. So I actually recognise this music and it's one of my favourites.

Another vote for Einaudi. Specifically the I Giorni album for me

goldpartyhat · 17/03/2020 20:53

Oh, I just love this, it's so beautiful ❤️

I accidentally discovered I like choral music. Lully, Lulla, Lullay by The Truro Cathedral Choir is wonderful.
