Please share anything mundane, funny, sweet you name it Smile

I'm in denmark, started my day by letting out the cats, only they didn't feel like it, so they sat in the doorway a loong time and now it is freezing.

I'm planning on washing my curtains as they have been taken down due to renovating the living room.

Oh and I'm going to shave my whiskers today, suddenly appeared at the sides of my mouth Hmm.

Yes you are right I'm bored. Please tell me about your interesting lives.

I can't really help OP as I have been in lockdown for ages. I did take the bins out and saw a lizard - highlight of my week! Grin

Mintjulia · 17/03/2020 13:17

First day working from home.

Reorganising logistics for various events that are now cancelled. Working on a database. Doing some social media work

Dropped a note into my very elderly neighbours offering to fetch groceries if they need me to. Touched base with various friends & family, checking they're ok. Try to be as upbeat as possible. Old friends are using their wfm to get in touch which is nice.

This afternoon more work. Getting used to the isolation Sad I'm used to a noisy sales environment around me.

Later, will collect ds from school and be upbeat and normal while he tells me about his evil German teacher and the rest of his day.

Hopefully I'll get into the swing of this soon.

theoriginalmadambee · 17/03/2020 13:19

Me too, @Seventyone72seventy3 hence this thread, though we could help each other. Can't stand any more c... threads. I think your lizard spotting is a great thing 🤣

When our choir had a trip to Denmark, the girl of Swedish origin said that all her relatives were telling her she'd lose her beautiful Swedish accent.

I walked into town for my very first mammogram this morning, then got the bus back as far as Tesco where husband was starting the shop. Walked home (half a mile) carrying Far Too Much stuff.

Possibly quieter than usual, not scarily so. Couple of students with luggage (they've been told to assume they might not be coming back), one ethnically-SEAsian wearing a face mask, two women discussing where they'd been to buy stuff. Lots of older people in Tesco. Small stock of loo roll multipacks which was going down slowly (perhaps we're over the worst). No washing-up liquid.

Had lunch, did yesterday's crossword (it was a very Monday one) pratted around on the internet. Need to hang the washing. Husband is making more pizza sauce.

Princessfaffalot · 17/03/2020 13:20

He’s a he. He is lovely but my god the fur! He’s blowing his coat again so I’m hoovering constantly.

midwestspring · 17/03/2020 13:25

Kids are starting e learning just now. Lots of shouting into screens. It's going to take a little while to adjust I suspect.
I am doing my volunteer meeting over the phone.

theoriginalmadambee · 17/03/2020 13:28

Look at it this way @Princessfaffalot even if you have to isolate and is bored, you can always hoover Grin. My cats have been shedding for a month or more. I think they grow fur faster just to have more to shed.

My dh is in his home office, see him ever so often heading for the fridge Grin.

Been looking after dnephew from 6am till 2:15 then off to work 3-12am. Not one of my more restful days. My kids are at school here.
I've managed to clean downstairs loo and kitchen, everywhere else is a mess.
Ordered some seeds on amazon too thought I might as well take a stab at some gardening if we go in to isolation/lockdown!

Ninkanink · 17/03/2020 13:42

I’m Danish and really wish I was living back home in Denmark right now! Are you Danish? I would LOVE a Danish hot dog or two today! 🌭🌭

This morning I wore my floral shorts and cami pyjamas, a white kimono gown and my new-ish fluffy pink Pom Pom slippers, and DH and I lounged about with coffee and cinnamon buns and watched Frasier (our breakfast routine when he’s working from home).

Now I’m procrastinating to avoid cleaning/tidying the kitchen, so I’m watching telly (Posh Pawnbrokers - I love it when people bring in their beautiful jewellery and handbags!).

A bit later I need to pop out to check if the local shop has been restocked (need sponges, cleaning wipes and if possible, one carton of uht milk).

This afternoon I’ll be taking photos of things I’m going to sell and listing them on eBay .

Dinner is going to be a spatchcock peri peri chicken, with rice, and roasted courgette, pepper, tomato, red onion and garlic.

lucysmam · 17/03/2020 14:13

I've been in from work about half an hour (school kitchen/dinner lady). Very thin on the ground, child wise today.

So far I've opened the windows for some fresh air in the house, tidied upstairs a bit, stripped my bed & put the washer on, and made a coffee to enjoy with a piece of flapjack.

I have a very small to do list - I may or may not get round to it.

After picking dd2 up we need to nip and collect a parcel from the Post Office...and then I don't know what we'll do!

Usually Tuesdays are a bit of a rush as I run the local Rainbow and Guide units on a Tuesday but we've cancelled for the foreseeable future :(

Maybe I'll have a Wine or two and a bath...

Sarahlou63 · 17/03/2020 14:19

Went to the municipal dog shelter to shovel shit this morning - they were very impressed with my new pink Marigolds. There’s a new litter of puppies who look exactly like a couple of ours did when they were the same age. MUST NOT GET ANYMORE DOGS. Actually it’s the old ones who really get to me. Just had lunch and about to snooze for a bit. Bloody love siesta...

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 17/03/2020 14:31

@Ninkanink I love your armchair, and your pompom slippers!

So far today, I’ve taken DD to school, where I chatted with other freaked-out parents and the SENCO. Been to Aldi, which was more civilised than I was expecting, though completely out of loo roll, pasta, etc.

Did a bit of hoovering, had a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel for lunch and am now trying to restore order to my study, which I’ve been intending to do for months and now really need to do so I can WFH comfortably.

Nearly time to collect DD. Apparently school’s going ahead with its cake sale this week. Hmm...

theoriginalmadambee · 17/03/2020 14:38

@Ninkanink
Hi, yes I'm Danish. You got to make your own hotdogs as best you can.

@Sarahlou63 oh please do get more dogs, they deserve it and so do you Smile.

Procrastination seems to be widespread when it comes to housework Grin.

I'm thinking about sowing some rocket, even though it is still cold, rocket is usually resilient, that way we atleast get fresh salad at some point Hmm.

Picked up a walker for a friend in hospital, then walked into town for a coffee.
Served mass. Now more coffee before biding said friend later on.
Cuddled cats before all that though.

PenguinsOnParade · 17/03/2020 14:41

We survived our shopping and actually enjoyed walking around town. Poundland had more stock than Home Bargains which was crazy with how empty the shelves were. Got everything I needed and spent the afternoon texting my DC's dad discussing what to do about visitation for now.

Now sitting in the pub before kids get out of school, we have two locals who are staying open until they're forced to close and we would rather support them while we can as it's a scary time for them.

theoriginalmadambee · 17/03/2020 14:48

@Ninkanink does anyone ever get the reference in your username, I've just looked it up and it's just called rabbit? Our's is so much better Grin.

DinosApple · 17/03/2020 14:49

From the sofa (quarantine) I am telling DD2 how to bake fairy cakes, she's 9 and really only ever helped me do it before. She's doing great.

DD1 (10) spent the morning doing some cross stitch - again unsupervised Grandma taught her.

Both DC do not want to do school work and I feel too rough to make them right now.

DH is doing the garden. He loves gardening as it is, but the amount of time he's spent out there means it should look like Kew Gardens soon!

Ninkanink · 17/03/2020 14:53

Heh yes Scandinavian people do! No one else I don’t think...

vampirethriller · 17/03/2020 14:55

I've been in the allotment with the baby, she slept in the pram while I had a bonfire and planted some bits. Rhubarb is throughSmile
Just made some fudge for my sister's birthday and when I've had a cup of coffee it's dog walk time. The dog is a dickhead who needs two hours exercise a day or she's unbearable. I love her though.

Egghead68 · 17/03/2020 14:57

Locked in and working from home. For “fun”/breaks I am trying to get my 10,000 steps by walking up and down my galley kitchen.

Pinkarsedfly · 17/03/2020 15:04

I’ve spent most of the day in bed reading the latest Hilary Mantel. Not self-isolating, just a lazy trollop enjoying my day off!

Went for a run to atone. Will do some strength exercises and have a shower in a minute.

I’m tutoring for an hour this afternoon, then it’s back to my book.

Rock. And. Roll.

Ninkanink · 17/03/2020 15:18

@Egghead68 did you hear about the elderly (I think he was elderly?) Chinese man who apparently ran a marathon around his dining table during his isolation?

@Pinkarsedfly my and DH’s version of Rock’n’roll is a hot chocolate with a double shot of amaretto most evenings. Fun times. 😁

@SomethingNastyInTheBallPool thank you!

Ninkanink · 17/03/2020 15:20

We just had lunch - I made tuna crunch baguette. There was extra so I artfully arranged mine to vaguely resemble a horn of plenty.

What are you doing today? Tell me about you 'interesting' lives
theoriginalmadambee · 17/03/2020 15:26

@Egghead68 your floorboards are at risk here .

@Ninkanink that just looks delicious, you made my mouth water Envy.

I just had a Leverpostejmad for lunch (envy).
