I've been on the phone to 111 for...

24 hours.
Except for one hour around 2am where I napped.

My daughter started with a cough and temperature yesterday. She's 6.

But before this she came out in a rash.
It covers her stomach and back. And now it is spreading up her neck and onto her arms.
She came out in this after starting new creams from the dermatologist, so I stopped the creams but it is still spreading.
I'm unsure if this is a reaction to the creams, a viral rash or something completely different such as scarlet fever.

I phoned the GP and asked for a phone call appointment. They refused advising me.to phone 111 (who I was on the phone to on the other line already) 🤦

What am I meant to do? If she has scarlet fever or something she needs antibiotics, but at the same time I don't want to infect anyone with anything that could potentially be serious.

justwondering HAS APOLOGISED

Just for those who may missed it or chosen to ignore it

It can be easy forget sometimes there are people behind these words, and, what has and us being done to the most vulnerable in the uk.

Not everyone admits they were wrong and come back to apologise. Many just hide the thread and ignore it. justwondering didn't.

Best of luck OP! I had scarlet fever at age 19 and got into a drug study for Zithromax. The Rxs you listed for yourself my son is on as well.. I'm sure hoping you all have peace and healing at this time.

So glad you've got a diagnosis and some treatment OP. You were very presistent where a lot of people may have given up.

I had scarlet fever when I was 21. I'd just started a new job and was forcing myself to work with the sorest throat I've ever had before or since and a growing very itchy rash.

I went to a pharmacist who told me it was hay fever and sold me anti-histamines. No improvement next day (I was worse) so since I didn't dare take time off I went to a different pharmacist at lunch time who too one look at me, phoned my GP and got them to prescribe anti-biotics by fax - which amazingly they did....

So I know your poor DD must be feeling dreadful but can tell you the meds work quite fast. I hope she feels better soon and well done again for being so persistent

We have 5 days worth of antibiotics.
The pharmacy didn't have enough but have ordered more in for us, which won't arrive until Friday evening. So I'll have to arrange for that to be collected.

I'm just glad she's now got the right medication.
