What's your favourite dessert/baked good?

I need baking/cooking inspiration because I'm currently stuck on red velvet cake Grin

My favourite desserts are panna cotta and white chocolate baked cheesecake (nicer than it sounds). As for my favourite baked goods, I can't decide, maybe just plain shortbread!

Red velvet is one of my favourites. I also love Mary Berrys, lemon meringue cake.

Hate red velvet!

Love creme brûlée, New York cheese cake, tiramisu, pavlova, key lime pie, brownies, caramelised bananas with toffee sauce and ice cream.

Davros · 12/03/2020 18:33

Rice pudding and all it's glorious variations

Chelsea buns or brownies.

Pipandmum · 12/03/2020 18:43

Brownie. Though at the moment I'm lusting after Tesco's bakery shortbread chocolate chip biscuits - they have sugar on top for extra decadence!
But nothing can beat a moist chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/03/2020 18:46

Lemon meringue pie
Cornflake cakes- yes Uber easy but love

YessicaHaircut · 12/03/2020 18:47

Carrot cake with lovely cream cheese frosting, or chocolate brownies with chopped dark chocolate and walnuts in them.

AccioCake · 12/03/2020 18:48

Creme brûlée
Sticky toffee pudding
Vanilla cheesecake

I made these brownies the other day and they were amazing.

Ooh. Carrot cake with sultanas and frosting
Caramel brownies
Good old Victoria sponge cake
Sticky toffee pudding with lashes of sauce.

I want cake now!

Davros · 12/03/2020 18:55

Interesting. I'm not a brownie fan although I'd neck one at any time

SilverOtter · 12/03/2020 18:57

This is the absolute favourite cake in our house. It is utterly delicious! I don't bother making the extra gingerbread biscuits to stick on unless it's Christmas.

I hate chocolate puds but give me anything boozy with cream, especially trifle, but no jelly please, it's revolting.

And banoffee pie isn't bad either. Again it's creamy.

In terms of cakes, I only like Victoria Sponge and Carrot Cake.

And I wouldn't say no to apple crumble with custard and cream.

SilverOtter · 12/03/2020 19:02

This Bakewell traybake is also very popular in our house:

Lemon meringue pie (although meringue does my head in!) or gingerbread - the proper soft type.
