What's your favourite dessert/baked good?

I need baking/cooking inspiration because I'm currently stuck on red velvet cake Grin

My favourite desserts are panna cotta and white chocolate baked cheesecake (nicer than it sounds). As for my favourite baked goods, I can't decide, maybe just plain shortbread!

One of my favourite puddings is profiteroles with Amaretto cream and a raspberry for filling and the tops dipped in caramel. Makes a nice change to chocolate sauce.

Red velvet cake looks amazing but it’s usually just a stodgy cake.

I love strudels, cheesecake and tiramisu

@Hippee could you share your lemon self saucing recipie, please? We like a chocolate version here, but not found a good lemon one.

evilharpy · 12/03/2020 20:30

Anything lemon. Lemon possett (very sharp lemony please with a shortbread to dip into it) or a decent lemon tart.

Creme brulee or crema catalana

Home made rice pudding with lots of cinnamon

Rhubarb crumble and custard with a wee blob of vanilla ice cream on top to melt into the custard

Probably in that order

LadySlipper11 · 12/03/2020 20:35

Cheesecake, millionaire's shortbread and tiffin are my absolute favourites

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/03/2020 20:37

Millionaires short bread! How did I forget? Anyone got a decent recipe?

MinnieMountain · 12/03/2020 20:39

KittenVsBox I use this one: www.deliaonline.com/recipes/meals-and-courses/desserts/hot-citrus-pudding

It's ok to make a pudding when I'm the only one in the house who eats it, isn't it?

Babymamaroon · 12/03/2020 20:39

Mine is pavlova with TONS of freshly whipped cream and lots of strawberries.

The meringue has to be gooey and chewy and the outside firm enough to have a little crunch! I'm dribbling at the thought 😋

thefemalelemur · 12/03/2020 20:39

Carrot cake! Primrose bakery recipe.

Nocti · 12/03/2020 20:41

KittenVsBox Lemon self-saucing pudding

Cream 2oz butter/marg and 4oz caster sugar. Beat in 2 yolks and stir in 1oz plain flour. Add juice and zest of one lemon and half a pint of milk (mixture curdles at this point). Whisk the 2 egg whites and fold into mixture.

Pour into a well-buttered 1.5 pint dish and bake at gas mark 4 for 1 hour
