Your favourite adverts (or ones that have really stuck in your mind.)

I like the one with the little girl who gets the £ out of the trolley and skips along all happy, dad asks for the £ back and her little face drops. So sweet.

The FAST adverts really stick in my mind.

Road safety ads; Such and such knew her killer (with the family in the car) and the little girl who'd been run over and was slumped by a tree (if you'd been going at 20 I'd survive..)

I'm sure there was a fire service one also (around Christmas) that showed just how quickly the room went up in flames.

What are yours?

Ha! I came on here to say the one with the little girl and her £1 coin. She is a real star, love that ad.

YewandOak · 11/03/2020 14:26

The waterslide one - Barclays?

The Gorilla one playing Phil Collins - Cadbury.

YewandOak · 11/03/2020 14:26

Oh and the cats with opposable thumbs - Cravendale

ChessieFL · 11/03/2020 14:28

The Sony TV ad with all the coloured balls bouncing down a San Francisco street.

The John Smith ads with Peter Kay.

DamselInTheStress · 11/03/2020 14:28

Not a favourite one by any means but I will never forget those terrifying old Metz ads with the fucking Judderman < shivers >

BearSoFair · 11/03/2020 14:35

The Eve mattress sloth.

Older one but Harvey and Rabbit 'Friends' song. I can't even remember what it was for but I can remember bits of the song!

SueVide · 11/03/2020 14:42

The Cadburys ads with the neightbour returning the kid's stuff over the fence and the shopkeeper giving the little girl buying her mum a birthday treat a toy unicorn in change. Both make me melt. Shame their chocolate is so horrible these days.

yummytummy · 11/03/2020 14:45

the milk one i think with accrington stanley showing my age there!

Clawdy · 11/03/2020 15:02

The really old Hovis one. And the car advert that featured a guy saying the words of "Don't you want me, baby" - so funny!

sueelleker · 11/03/2020 15:38

The Skoda advert where they made a car out of cake and sweets.

NerosFiddle · 11/03/2020 15:38

The Orange ad when the electric went out in New York.

zoClueless · 11/03/2020 15:40

The Red Car and the Blue Car had race...

Love that Milkyway ad from my childhood

shumway · 11/03/2020 15:41

Harvey and rabbit. The lonely pony one.

Strangerthingshere · 11/03/2020 15:43

The amazon one where the child is scared of her golden lab so but loves her lion toy so the parents get a mane from amazon and dress the dog up like a lion!

sunshineandshowers21 · 11/03/2020 15:46

i love the one with the boys throwing the chocolate over for the neighbour. in my pregnant hormonal state i cried for about ten minutes when i first saw it 🙈 on the other hand i hate the alexa advert with the mum who lets her kid repeatedly boot a football against a wall at 4 in the bloody morning, with the light on! i wouldn’t want to be her neighbour, the selfish cow 😂

stardance · 11/03/2020 15:56

I remember lots of adverts from my childhood, there's something I love about the nostalgia of them. Nowadays I don't really watch ads as I can fast forward past them.

Bisto gravy.
The McCain chips one- 'daddy or chips?'
Lockets advert with the couple kissing in a lift.
Guinness advert with the song 'we have all the time in the world'.
Belly's gonna get ya!
Campbell's meatball heads.
You've been tangoed.
Pilsbury toast pockets with the little giggling cartoon chef.

stardance · 11/03/2020 15:56

Oh and the crunchie one 'I'm so excited!'

chomalungma · 11/03/2020 16:01

Feeling low?
Go have a coffee by the sea in a Beetle

SlayingDragons · 11/03/2020 16:10

Too many to list but the one that is most commonly referenced in our house is an old Spar advert from the 80s. Only people from NI would know it, but I can guarantee that anyone who lived in NI in the 80s would remember “Fred! There’s no bread!”

UniKittie · 11/03/2020 16:13
I was 10 when this came out and it’s always stuck with me.
allfurcoatnoknickers · 11/03/2020 16:14

That GHD one from about 2008 with the girls praying and the music from Amelie (?):

The Jaguar "Gorgeous" advert from around the same time always really stuck with me too:

DamselInTheStress · 11/03/2020 16:15

Oh that's a nice one @chomalungma pity it's Nescafe though

allfurcoatnoknickers · 11/03/2020 16:16

This flake ad too:

I am clearly really susceptible to advertising. I could name loads :D

DamselInTheStress · 11/03/2020 16:16

Beware the Judderman

allfurcoatnoknickers · 11/03/2020 16:17

@DamselInTheStress OMG that one haunted my dreams. I can still recite it.
