Your favourite adverts (or ones that have really stuck in your mind.)

I like the one with the little girl who gets the £ out of the trolley and skips along all happy, dad asks for the £ back and her little face drops. So sweet.

The FAST adverts really stick in my mind.

Road safety ads; Such and such knew her killer (with the family in the car) and the little girl who'd been run over and was slumped by a tree (if you'd been going at 20 I'd survive..)

I'm sure there was a fire service one also (around Christmas) that showed just how quickly the room went up in flames.

What are yours?

The Aldi one with the elderly lady who likes gin.

EmmiJay · 11/03/2020 16:19

The "Blue Smartie is back" advert. "Yellow! GET RID OF HIM!" plus the Smartie Party music at the end🤣

DamselInTheStress · 11/03/2020 16:20

@allfurcoatnoknickers here's a Flake one I remember from my childhood

I used to hate it when that Judderman ad came on when I was up late watching tv on my own.

LefttoherownDevizes · 11/03/2020 16:21

Daddy or chips, daddy or chips

And the dancing hippo for hippopotamousse

SinkGirl · 11/03/2020 16:30

I used to work for an international advertising festival so saw thousands of the best TV adverts from around the world.

This is the one that has always stuck with me - really shocked me when I first saw it

And on a much lighter note, I love Harvey & Rabbit

And this one is pretty amusing

There was a Mr Sheen(?) one when I was a kid which had a stereotypical cleaning lady (housecoat, headscarf) cleaning as fast as she could to get the job done while staying a step ahead of the dirty old man occupant pursuing her. Would be completely unacceptable now but the way she hurdled the garden fence to escape at the end used to have all of us in fits of laughter.

AdoptedBumpkin · 11/03/2020 16:48

Quite a few Maltesers adverts for some reason. The one with the disabled lady and also, for some reason, the one 15+ years ago with the girls camping.

Also, the chewing gum one in an airport (Wrigleys?). The Dairy Milk one with the gorilla playing drums.

BikeRunSki · 11/03/2020 16:50

Make way for the mushrooms! (Mushroom Marketing Board)
It’s in the sand! (AA)
Daddy or Chips? (McCain)

Am I showing my age Grin

Also, the one about 5 years ago with a little girl grinning her face off as she speeds along on her bike. Was that for the AA maybe?

Batfinklestein · 11/03/2020 16:52

The John Lewis "Always a woman" one. I showed it to a colleague this morning as the song came on at work & she hadn't seen the ad.
So beautiful. Gets me every time and I'm not even sure why!

Ilovethekitties · 11/03/2020 16:56

KEV, BEV, BEV, KEV!

crapette · 11/03/2020 17:01

i hate the alexa advert with the mum who lets her kid repeatedly boot a football against a wall at 4 in the bloody morning, with the light on! i wouldn’t want to be her neighbour, the selfish cow

I rarely see any TV ads, but I caught this one yesterday. It made me shout at the TV. The mum smiling whimsically makes me think she must definitely be a MN CF NDN Angry

SinkGirl · 11/03/2020 17:09

Oh and this one is brilliant!

I’m remembering more as I think about it :)

The dancing man, Guinness
Fry's Turkish Delight

FloraGreysteel · 11/03/2020 18:10

This one. Highly triggering for anyone who has been sexually abused (like me). For those who haven't, this is the best representation of what it feels like.

chomalungma · 11/03/2020 18:17

A favourite

cookielove · 11/03/2020 18:18

I am not sure what the advert is but i love the one where the pets sing "your all i need to get by"

user1471464702 · 11/03/2020 18:20

@chomalungma oh I live the JR Hartley one! So pure!

BasilFaulty · 11/03/2020 18:29

@sinkgirl that is so powerful Sad

Floralnomad · 11/03/2020 18:30

I like the old beagle street ad where the dog had taken all of the mans trousers , the Harvey the dog ads ( love him as Sykes in Midsommer murders as well ) . Of current ads I like the clear score one with the Zebra working in the hospital .

SinkGirl · 11/03/2020 18:32

I struggle to watch it even now - even having seen it many times.

BasilFaulty · 11/03/2020 18:32

That one with the meerkat shouting DAVE DAVE DAVE oh it's not Dave STEVE STEVE STEVE
