I'm curious to find out what membership and subscription fees are and whether they differ vastly from area to area. Would anyone mind sharing?

Ours in Leics have been put up this month. £47 per child per year membership fee plus £12 monthly subs.

Beavers, West Mids, £35 per term or £30 for siblings

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/03/2020 12:51

£10 a month. Lincolnshire.

From which we, as leaders, get £1 per child per session to spend on activities. Rest goes on the annual subscription, leader training, electricity bill, hut upkeep, DBS checks...

Pascha · 10/03/2020 12:52

£3 per session, no membership fee here in SE Kent.

mambanumber5 · 10/03/2020 12:53

£36 a term. No membership fee that I can recall. My husband and helps out every week (including pre session organisation meetings) and we still pay our subs. It's good value. The subs don't go to paying anyone - it's all spent on resources for the pack and hall hire.

Mumdiva99 · 10/03/2020 12:54

I help with scouts - we had to increase prices recently and asked around our area. Please be mindful different groups include different items - so some groups near us charge more but include a number of camps a year. We charge £10 per month all year. I pay the same for my daughter at brownies they also have an annual fee.

Cerealnamechangerstrikesagain · 10/03/2020 12:55

£35 per term or £100 up front for the year.

Polyethyl · 10/03/2020 12:56

pearpickingporky84 · 10/03/2020 13:01

£50 for the year here in NI

BrieAndChilli · 10/03/2020 13:02

We charge £40 per term and we pay the annual membership fee out of that. the annual membership in wales was £53 this year so you can see its a big chunk out of it!

snowplop · 10/03/2020 13:04

Thanks all for your replies. It's a wonderful organisation that my kids love being part of.

SaffyWall · 10/03/2020 13:06

We're on North Yorkshire and pay the £50 capitation fee annually (which goes straight to the Scouts Association, I believe) and then £15 per term to the Unit for everything else.

Firecracker2019 · 10/03/2020 13:09

Just paid subs for this half term (Feb to Easter hols) which was £28 which is average.

mnahmnah · 10/03/2020 13:10

ZarkingBell · 10/03/2020 13:11
